GLAMGLOW #Multimasking Mask Treatment Set | Review

in skincare •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi!

For the last couple of months I've been playing around with 6 GlamGlow masks, and here is my (hopefully) thorough review.

First of all, let's talk about my skin type.
I am a sweet combination of oily and dry, with a tiny bit of acne and a ton of blemishes. Also, I've gone through Accutane and although the drug's been out of my system for a long time now - it's important to mention it. So, as you can see, my skin is pretty problematic. And !! the masks are supposed to be a holy grail solution. Are they though?

Now, let's get into the masks.

#1 SUPERMUD® Clearing Treatment

  • 0.7 oz/20 g
  • it is: a skincare mask designed to visibly clear the complexion

This mask is supposed to fight your: pores, blemishes and acne. Great, I have it all!
I've been using the mask for a long, long time. Even before I actually bought the whole set. It is a really good mask, it doesn't do WONDERS, doesn't make your acne magically disappear, but it is good. It makes your skin look better, it dries your pimples, make your pores look a bit smaller. It also smells and feels fresh and very, very clean. It has charcoal in it, which makes all the difference in the world - nothing makes your skin feel cleaner than a bit of charcoal. After some time I haven't noticed that my pores are smaller, that I don't get acne anymore, that I don't have any blemishes. It does help to clear your skin, but it doesn't clear it permanently. It does make your pores appear smaller, but the day after you use the mask they are big again. I love using the mask though, because it makes me feel better about my skin, like I'm giving it something good. This mask is the biggest one out of the whole set. It lasts a very long time, probably a couple of months if you don't use it everyday in big amounts.

#2 YOUTHMUD™ Tinglexfoliate Treatment

  • 0.35 oz/10 g
  • it is: professional-quality facial in a jar that softens and brightens in as little as 10 minutes

This one is for: fine lines, wrinkles and dullness and uneven texture.
Now, I don't like that mask. You put it on for 10 minutes, it has the weirdest texture and a really strange smell. It does feel pretty boujee, but that's about it. I haven't seen any improvement in my skin. I don't feel good after I put it on, I feel pretty much nothing - it does nothing to my skin. It does tingle and actually, it kind of burns which is not a good feeling. It exfoliates pretty well though, but so does any other mask that I own that is 10 times more affordable than the GlamGlow one. It is the only mask out of the whole set that I do not want to repurchase.

#3 GRAVITYMUD™ Firming Treatment

  • 0.35 oz/10 g
  • it is: a mud-based, peel-off face mask designed to tighten the appearance of skin

Now, this one is hard to review. I love the mask. It has an amazing smell, it is a peel-off mask (and peel-offs are fun!) and it looks incredible - it's silver, you look like an alien that's just trying to tighten their skin. But 10g is not enough to see any permanent results. Altough, right after you apply the mask and take it off, your skin does feel tighter, looks lifted and has a bit of a glow. That's all I'm gonna say. 10g doesn't last you a long time, but it sure is a good time and I would 10/10 repurchase it if it wasn't that pricey.

#4 THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment

  • 0.35 oz/10 g
  • it is: non-drying hydration mask to deliver instant, extreme moisture (overnight mask)

Fantastic. Amazing. Incredible.
It's supposed to get rid of dryness, redness and dullness. Redness? Yes. Dryness? YES. Dullness? Meh, kind of but not really. BUT it is an amazing overnight mask that leaves your skin soft, moisturized and looking amazing! Also, I really do have to give it a +1 for the smell. It has the most amazing smell. It smells like coconut and everything amazing in the world. I used the mask every two days. It did last a really long time and now that it's gone I'm really, really sad about it. It's not sticky, if you massage it into your skin it sinks in and gets into the pores, so you know you won't mess up your pillow. I am definitely going to repurchase very soon. Please, give it a try!

#5 FLASHMUD™ Brightening Treatment

  • 0.35 oz/10 g
  • it is: multi-targeted, multi-sensorial quick results brightening treatment for radiant, youthful-looking skin

So, big words, huh? Multi-targeted, multi-blabla. Basically, it gets rid of dark spots and uneven skin tone. And it does.
You leave it on for at least 20 minutes. After some time it starts to tingle. It's kind of itchy. It's also a very good exfoliator, which was a surprise. The mask itself does its job pretty well. It does brighten everything. But it won't get rid of scars or really deep dark spots. Anything shallow - it will get rid of it. The mask feels really fresh, the smell is not that bad and it doesn't burn your skin - that's important when it comes to brightening masks, you have to be careful with them. Would I repurchase? Yeah, probably. I found myself not going for the mask as much as the other ones (except the Tinglexfoliate Treatment one) but I did enjoy it and would recommend.

#6 POWERMUD™ Dualcleanse Treatment

  • 0.35 oz/10 g
  • it is: mud-to-oil, gentle, deep cleansing treatment that removes the weekly buildup of dirt, oil, and makeup

It is pretty gentle, it does clean your face of dirt, oil, make up. It really makes your skin feel fresh and clean. And that's it. It is not supposed to do anything else, so that's why I'm not shitting all over it 'cause it's alright. It does its job, it's not the best, it's not the worst - it's pretty mediocre. That's why I won't buy it again but if it's something for you - go for it! 10g is enough for a couple of uses, not too much and not too little. It is honestly the most meh mask I've ever bought. It's okaaay though..

Rating: 2/5

THAT'S IT!
Some quick, overall info:
These are travel sized, $96 value for $39. You get 6 amazing masks (well, 5) for almost half a price.
I recommend buying the set. You can also buy the masks separately but they are pretty pricey in my opinion.
In the end, it's all up to you.

Thanks for reading, see you again next time!
