The new theme around the STEEM blockchain is decentralization, or in another way, getting back to the roots of the crypto blockchain experience. Everyone has been confused about what steemit has been doing for the last year, and now the gig is virtually up. Well shame on us all because we all need to DIVERSIFY our STEEM experience, find new ways of networking and engagement, and new portals/applications running on the STEEM blockchain.
A year ago everyone was bitching about not getting enough piece of the action. Now everyone is sweating just hoping that the action continues. The latter is a better and healthier attitude. We all are part of the community and are help defining the future through our very actions here, our stake, and our ability to reach out to new markets in the world.
As Nassim Taleb says, life is all about having Skin in the Game, the ancient lesson that if you aren't truly bought in and have stake, there's no telling if you'll be around tomorrow !

Part of the community was here for the gain. Now that's less profitable, those ones just quit and we are left with a caring community. That's probably why we see a strong tendancy for the decentralization so it survive.
