After the first impressions with the Skinners, more socks than shoes, on a short walk and run, today was the time for the first real test.
How will the Skinners perform on a long walk in the forest?
We went on a family doggy geocaching hike in the forest above the Jable castle. This is the eastern area of the Rašica hill between the towns of Trzin and Mengeš. Practically our second backyard yet we are not often here.
OK, to the point - Skinners in the woods.
The photos and the comments with them will tell you the story.
Our path was partly tarmac forest road, party forest path and also no path at all. Just bush and thorns.
Starting easy on a forest path
As with other shoes, things tend to get stuck to the soles.
The walk became interesting when we were searching for a geocache which was off the beaten path.
When you are lucky enough to catch chestnut bur even when it's not autumn.
Yes, I walked through and over this terrain with Skinners.
No wonder I had some scars to prove it afterward.
The photos above told you a story of a hike over demanding terrain through the thick and thorny bush without any problems. Not counting that we didn't find the geocache and acquired some scars and nettle burns in the process.
The final verdict
The Skinners show more wear now on the soles. It's only right so since they are not a display item any longer. They are meant to be used. On any terrain, as you can see.
Everything is still intact and I believe it will remain so for many happy kilometers.
I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of this field test.
Skinners are my dream shoes of hiking in nature.
