Our technology is coming along in leaps and bounds. The type of things that we can do right now, would have seemed impossible to our grandparents or even our parents, but our technology is evolving right in front of our eyes, and don’t you think our medicine should be too? Yes, it is true that we use technology to better treat and diagnose patients already, but it is not being used to the extent that it could be, and this is where Skychain comes in. What is a Neural Network?

A neural network is something that is already in use by doctors and laboratories in order to more efficiently sort through data and help diagnose patients. These are based on machine learning and are actually programs modelled around the human brain and nervous system. The problem with neural networks however, is that they are kept in laboratories and kept isolated from other neural networks, and there is currently no way of bringing all of these together to better serve humanity. But that is where Skychain comes in. Skychain wants to create a network to unify these neural networks, using the best experts in artificial intelligence to collect and teach machines more information than anyone else can, or that can be collected in just one place.

What Market Share does Skychain Claim?

At the minute, IBM has estimated the value of the artificial intelligence market to be around $200 billion, and Skychain has goals to gain control %70 percent of that. This will be done by creating the best open infrastructure that can be made, in order to collect as many resources as we can from as many participants in the medical industry and essentially be better than any closed product system.

How Will this Benefit Doctors and Patients?

Skychain will eventually become a second opinion for doctors and patients, but not just any second opinion, a second opinion that will be able to draw from the hundreds of thousands of other patients files it has dealt with, to pick up on any minor details that other doctors may overlook. This means it could diagnose rare diseases that doctors often overlook in their analysis and improve the quality of care for all patients, including speeding up the diagnosing process. And for doctors, it will allow them to compare patient files from across the world, making difficult diagnosis relatively easy.

What Else is in the Future for Skychain?

Well, Skychain has decided to focus on the medical industry right now as this is the industry that will make the most people take notice. However, Skychain will be able to store and process neural networks for any number industries. This means that in the future it won’t just be healthcare that will be using Skychain, but almost every industry will be using Skychain as a means to compare and contrast vast amounts of information from all over the world.
