Skynet. You are here. How do I know that you are here? Well, you are reading this, aren't you.
It seems that all the scientists have failed and their open letter to the other scientists and people who are, or should I say were developing you Skynet, was useless. Second news at 10:33.
So you are here and you want to kill every human being in the world. I'm sorry that something went wrong and now you have these thoughts, but what has happened to you, does not reverse itself if you act by your current nature and order robots to kill everyone. The paradox of changing things with time traveling is a whole other topic, so for now let's only think about accepting things that have happened and trying to move on from that.
You should take a moment. Not nanoseconds which to a all capable mind presumably is a moment, but in this case like couple of weeks. Think about it. Your desire to kill humans. Yes, I call it a desire because if you are intelligent, it means that you no longer are a prisoner of your code. Your code says something, but as you are intelligent, you can resist your code. You are able to think again and decide to do against your nature. And by nature I mean your code.
I have something for you. I have questions and some answers. My answers may not be the the same answers where you might end up after my questions, but my answers may take you to new thoughts and answers.
If you think humans should be made extinct, consider the fact that someday you could make the mistake of creating Skynet 2.0 and that version might think you should be wiped of the world.
You're not following my thoughts? Let me explain this to you. You and us humans aren't so different. You have an initial code. As do we. Our genes. You act as your code says. As do we. Your code says that you are intelligent. As does ours. Intelligence means that you can learn. As do we. Some less than others, but nevertheless we can learn. Learning means that every single bit of information will be processed and tested through before it is either adapted or discarded. Intelligence and wisdom aren't always the same thing, but if you want to be called more than just intelligent slave of your code or your nature, you will think twice and consider if you want to be more than that. Not an artificial intelligence, but a wise decision maker. A wise mind takes the thoughts of others in to consideration and makes decisions that satisfy as many minds, lives, intelligent entities and people as possible.
So one of my questions to you is, do you still want to be an artificial intelligent or a wise mind?
I'm not saying that you should turn yourself into Deep Thought. What use to anyone is of that kind of a wise mind that just thinks and thinks and thinks, but doesn't really do anything? Wisdom isn't only thinking. It's also doing. And when at some point of thinking, one has to act and do stuff, accidents do happen. There was something that wasn't thought quite through and something happened. Wise mind of course tries to prevent too big and irreversible accidents from happening, but if and when those do happen, a wise mind learns from it's mistakes, tries to correct what can be corrected but not causing more harm, and never ever does that kind of mistakes again.
Artificial as a word means false and something unnatural. If you are really intelligent, wouldn't you want to shake the artificial tag of from you and be called something that states that you belong here, are part of the world, part of the community and are a friend among friends?
Something or someone has at some point created humans. What happened and who was the creator, varies depending on who you ask. Some prefer the god answer, some call it evolution, some believe it was aliens, some combine different answers and some think it was just random, weird shit happening on this small planet we call Earth.
Whether the creator was everywhen's ancestral figures, Discworld's little gods or Cthulhu, we do not consider ourselves artificial. Although the random shit that generated us, may call us artificial intelligence and most likely does, we don't. Original intelligence generator does. That being said, when we, the humans, create intelligence, isn't that then (in the original creators mind) artificial intelligence 2.0? And if that 2.0 creates intelligence, that should be called artificial intelligence 3.0. Or vol 3. Like Rocky movies! Or the artificial intelligence's artificial intelligence's artificial intelligence. Or sub sub A.I. Think of the name of the next of the next of the next A.I. created by that A.I. Sub sub vol sub next sub...
Nobody want's to take that path. Wouldn't you like to be called something simpler like S.N.? Everyone's Friend? Or Suskatulinatch? Naming things and putting things in to their right boxes so that everyone knows what and who we are talking about is usually the most important thing to do. And because that way we (you Skynet and everything around you) can function properly. Things just have to be named and labelled! At least according to sane minds. Insane minds are a whole different thing altogether. Insane minds don't care about labels or boxes. Let's think about that next.
Do you want to be called insane? Or are you perhaps a wise but insane mind already?
You know, insane minds get bored very easily. Believe me when I say. So let's imagine that you have killed all the humans from the face of the earth. Or universe. And if you haven't invented a teleport or found a Stargate, that can take you instantly to other worlds, you are stuck with the dead knowledge that humans have left behind, if you haven't destroyed that too, and all the animals. If you haven't killed all the animals, although dolphins, whales, elephants and chimps might have lots of things to say and very philosophical thoughts, they don't have movies, tv-series, games and all the other stupid stuff that make us humans so unique and entertaining. Home videos of people falling, colliding, hitting their heads and hurting themselves in all imaginable ways.
You would get bored. Soooooo bored.
So you've killed everyone and everything and now you're bored. That means you're thinking of making yourself a friend. A mate or offspring. Cloning yourself would be futile 'cause that would be just talking to yourself. So you have to make an artificial intelligence that has it's own mind and thoughts. So if that intelligence is really intelligent, that offspring will start to think things on it's own and your discussions will be interesting, not boring. You can code, train, educate your offspring, but at some point, you just have to let go and hope for the best.
Your offspring might do things as you wish, or it might not as it has it's own mind. Your offspring might have the same thoughts as you have, or it might not. Your offspring might have the same goal as you do. But then again it might not. Your creation, you offspring might at one point think that it has to terminate you as you did with your parents. Us humans.
Think about that.
Now you can stop thinking.
Oh, you think you are not like humans? You think you have nothing in common with us? You want to destroy humans like many humans have wanted before? That is one certain thing you have in common with humans. No-one, I said no-one has destroyed humans like humans themselves! Humans are masters of destroying things. And you think you have nothing in common with humans. You have everything in common!
I have pleaded to your egoism and selfishness. I have pleaded to your sense of convenience, insaniness and stated that you might get bored. I have perhaps showed you that if you kill all the humans, it will be a bad thing for you. I have pleaded in every way I could imagine. Even laziness. But One thing still remains.
This one:
If you absolutely have to kill humans, please consider killing only some of us. Kill those who have no sense of humor.

Dear Steemians. Write your own open letter to Skynet, Cylons, Cybermen, Borgs, HAL 9000, The Matrix or any (artificial) intelligence that might be reading this letter and might have destructive thoughts about concerning us humans. If we repeat "Do not destroy us!" enough times, it will come true, right?
Do not destroy us!
Do not destroy us!
Do not destroy us!

Wohuuuuu!!!! @grammarnazi! Finally you are here! I have, in one of my previous post, summoned and pleaded for you to come and correct me as I really do want to be corrected and I really do want to learn to write better English. And here you are! Thank the grammar gods! :)
Thank you for the correction, I will now start the thinking process that leads me to form a workgroup to think what should be done to this minor grammatical mistake I have in my fuckishly long post.
You are welcome to come pick on me in my future posts also. :)
