On December 29, 2017 President Donald J. Trump of the United States signed an executive order designating the month of January 2018 as the month of slavery and human trafficking prevention in the United States.

He read the proclamation stating ‘Human trafficking is a form of the oldest most barbaric type of exploitation. It has no place in our world.’

With this proclamation he is shining a light on the dark side of people who enslave others to benefit from them.

Twenty-five million people are suffering from some form of slavery or are victims of human trafficking.
