I have a Medicare Supplemental plan, which will require me to
pay a 20% copay.
I spoke to an attractive and shockingly you lady this afternoon,
who said she'd had hip replacement done TEN YEARS AGO in
New York, which 10 yrs ago cost $87,000. So just say the cost
hasn't gone up, my 20% (1/5th) copay of $87,000 would be
$17,400.
She said she is still paying on that debt, and will be for the
rest of her life. I have VA coverage, for which I would owe
Nothing, but I've had two testimonies of how they
botched the surgery, (two different people) that
required the original surgery to be redone,
months of painful delays, etc...if I had
MediCAID in addition to mediCARE, I
Would not have to pay anything. At
Present, I have too much $ in the
Bank to qualify for medicaid.
I don't know what to do, but
Say Good Night for now

sir jerrytsuseer..I don't know what to do either, or what I would do, how soon would you like to have it done? and does that lady have any problems with hers?

By "That Lady" could mean the young lady I met yesterday. I do not know her, so I do not know whether or not she has any problems.
From the few minutes of interaction I had with her, watching her move, I would say not.
If you mean my sister, well, she has problems at every turn and in every aspect of her life, but she hasn't mentioned any problem with her hip.
She has had a knee replacement, that operation she said, was FAR worse than the hip, and THAT operation (knee) has had to be redone.
You asked "how soon would you like to have it done?"
If the VA had picked up on the problem LAST AUG, it would have been done by now, so I would like to have it done yesterday.
It passed beyond repairability in January (I'm sure) when the pain suddenly BLOOMED into agony, so I have been grinding my way around through life in agony, and surely making it worse with every step, wearing away at the femur top and the hip socket.
I need this done yesterday, or the day before.

sir jerry yes I was referring to the young lady who had her hip replaced. I'm so sorry this situation has turned into agony, are there any meds that you can take?
Your experience with the VA is not the best? doesn't sound like they are very skilled.
