The sloth is a slow-moving, tree-dwelling mammal found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. There are two main types: two-toed sloths and three-toed sloths. They are known for their slow metabolism, which helps them conserve energy.

Sloths spend most of their lives hanging upside down from trees, using their long, curved claws to grip branches. They sleep for around 15–20 hours a day and move very little. Their diet mainly consists of leaves, fruits, and twigs, which take a long time to digest.

One interesting fact about sloths is that they have algae growing on their fur, which helps them blend into their surroundings and avoid predators like eagles and jaguars. Despite their slow movement, sloths are excellent swimmers.

Sloths are fascinating creatures that have adapted perfectly to their environment, living a peaceful and relaxed life in the treetops.
