In Honor Of Bitcoin Pizza Day.

I'm reposting this because I am a noob. I was fishing for some Slothicorn upvotes and blindly tagged her thinking, "that should do it". It seems my "post now, ask questions later" approach rarely ever works. This case was no different. So, without further ado... Take two.

This was created in honor of Bitcoin Pizza Day. Most of us know about it but in case you don't, here is where you will find the backstory so you can read about it as it happened: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0;all
To sum it up, a programmer by the name of Laszlo paid 10,000 Bitcoin for a couple of pizzas back in 2010. He's now famous for his "could've, should've, would've" story. Pseudo-famous anyways.

The Process:
I like to start my art with ugly blobs so I can visualize the shape and lighting possibilities.

Add a little outline. Never dark and always temporary. Remember that in most cases, solid outlines take away your ability to add the 3rd dimension

An imperfect Bitcoin. This will be the subject of my cloning and I will fancy it up later.

I am only adding this a reminder that it's ok to move on past an imperfect wood grain pattern. Don't switch to metal then back to wood 100X because your damn lines aren't woody enough. Get over it. You've got things to do today.

Wood it is. Throw in a quick shadow.

To clean it up, I zoom in 10,000X so I can obsess over every single pixel. Add a background and the drawing is complete.

I hope you like it!

This was created on my Microsoft surface using the Program Sketchbook by Autodesk. Not the App! The paid for desktop version in all its glory. This program in combination with the Microsoft Surface Pen is a force to be reckoned with. 100% hand drawn. The checkered background is even my own creation.

Now a quick celebrity name drop: Lori Brown, professional writer, is my beautiful wife. @stellabelle knows her from an amazing interview she had done with her.
