slothicorn and the magic of slow ((.)ω(.))

slothicorns like to eat and sleep and make magic and art. they move at their own rhythm and explore the world around them slowly with curious eyes.

In some ways, the sense of whimy and weirdness that @slothicorn makes me think of represents the freedom that working with cryptos can bring.

Since I started working as a creative in crypto, my money moves around pretty much whenever I want. I get paid much more often than I would working a traditional job. This is a magical thing. I have so much more daily freedom to be creative and dream. I can do many different kinds of things and get paid for it. I can write or playing games on steem, contribute to open source projects, enter contests, set up a node with a crypto that rewards them, collect crypto game assets, and more. I can even stay up late and create crypto art for slothicorn. The options are endless!

The crypto world before me seems endlessly bountiful.

But do you know what's not bountiful all the time?

...My energy.

The world of crypto is so far. There's so much information, so much movement all the time. This project forks and that market mooned. It's exciting and I love it. But sometimes it makes me tired.

I like to work hard and I often work on my own. It's easy to work every day and never take a break. And because crypto and crypto art overlap with so many of my hobbies, it's easy to take that trait to the extreme. I always feel like I'm missing something or not moving fast enough. It can get so intense that my body itself feels taunt with tension, almost twitching if I don't check this portfolio or that news outlet.

Lucky for me, slothicorn has an antidote.

When I think of slothicorns, I think about the slow magic of sloths. I admire that they move at their own pace and rhythm. In a world where everything is plugged in and happening all the time, that's powerful.

Just because we can be plugged in all the time doesn't mean we should be. Our new found freedom asks us to exercise different skills than we used when we felt caged in by society. I can make money at any time, from lots of different places. So sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself to be making money all the time from every place! During the transition to living off of cryptos, that pressure doubles!

Sometimes the best thing to do is be like a sloth and move slow. The crypto world is full of infinite opportunity and I can't respond to what's happening in front of me if I worry all the time about what I might be missing. When my body feels tense, I have to breathe and relax and remember that I'm right on time. Those pains are the echos of an old world.

In a new world, Slothicorn magic happens any time, any where, whenever I want.
