Slotto.io is a project launched by @roundbeargames a little over a month ago. It's a lotto game based on the Steem blockchain.

The jackpot is usually worth 100+ STEEM. There have been 4 Rounds so far with 2 winners. In addition to the jackpot a weekly Smallpot is played for a prize of 5 STEEM. As I'll explain later somebody always wins the Smallpot.

Round 1 winner was @nandacoa with 104.351 STEEM as his prize and in Round 2 @osamarodriguez won 129.1 STEEM. There were no winners in Round 3 and 4.

How does it work?

Each ticket that is bought is recorded on the blockchain. You get a memo in your Steemit wallet with the number of your ticket. Here's a screenshot of my ticket I bought 3 days ago for 0.1 STEEM...

On the the day of the draw (every friday) the computer randomly chooses three numbers after @roundbeargames presses Draw ticket and the chosen numbers get automatically recorded on the blockchain.

How do I buy a ticket?

You go to https://slotto.io/ and purchase one or more tickets. One ticket costs 0.1 STEEM.

The ticket has 3 number slots. Each number slot has a number between 1-49.

Ticket examples:

• 5,39,17.
• 40,3,22

You can click on the random generator to give you a ticket (shown in the gif below) or you can write the numbers manually yourself.

What are my chances?

We'll take a look at the probalities for winning the Jackpot and Smallpot separately.

Jackpot (100+ STEEM)

Each ticket has three number slots and in each slot there can be a number between 1-49.

Therefore we have 19,608 possible combinations.

All possible combinations: (49X49X49)/3!=19,608

If you buy 1 ticket the chances of it being a winning ticket is about 0.005%.

• 1/19,608= 0.00005x100%= 0.005%

If you buy 2 tickets your chances of winning increase double to 0.001%.

• 2/19,608= 0.00001x100%= 0.001%

If you buy 100 tickets your chances of winning increase to 0.5% or half of one percent.

• 100/19,608= 0.005x100%= 0.5%

Smallpot (5 STEEM)

Your chances of winning the Smallpot are much bigger because one ticket will be drawn amongst those that were bought.

So if you buy 1 ticket and there were altogether 100 tickets bought your chances of winning are 1%

• 1/100= 0.01x100%= 1%

If you buy 1 ticket and there were altogether 200 tickets bought your chances of winning are 0.5%.

• 2/100= 0.005x100%= 0.5%
