Her long historical story began in 1580 when the Habsburg Archduke Charles II, son of emperor Ferdinand I. Habsburg, bought a Lipizzan estate from the bishop of Nicola de Coreta from Trieste. Thus, he laid the foundations of the future imperial royal stud farm in Lipica, since then the start of the breeding of the Lipizzaner horse breed is considered. Lipica is the original stud farm of the Lipizzaner horse breed, one of the oldest cultural breeds of horses in the world, grazing on the green pastures of the Lipizzaner, on protected natural areas, which is part of the geographical features of the Istrian-Karst region.
White Lipizzaner moths have gilts that are dark in color. The Lipica school of classical riding also represents in Lipica, it also loves a romantic ride with a carriage along beautiful avenues and walks all the way to the historical core. These are the experiences that every year enthusiastically attract many visitors to the Lipica Stud Farm.
Today Lipica Stud Farm is one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments of Slovenia, offering home to more than 350 Lipizzaners.
