How to update your node from v1.2.x to v1.2.5

1. Update your desktop-wallet to 1.2.5 (smartcash.cc -> node client)
https://github.com/SmartCash/Core-Smart/releases/tag/v1.2.5

2. Update your node running this command (One line):

if not on root:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install smartcashd -y && smartcash-cli stop && sleep 5 && smartcashd

On root:

apt update && apt install smartcashd -y && smartcash-cli stop && sleep 5 && smartcashd

1. Check that it works with

smartcash-cli getinfo
after the upgrade. It should say

"version": 1020500

Also get the new Desktop Node Client from https://smartcash.cc/wallets/ afterwards if you need to use desktop ever.

Adding swap space (virtual memory for your VPS):

(to see if you already have swap memory)
sudo swapon --show

To add swap space type the following into your VPS console, one at a time:

sudo fallocate -l 4G /swapfile
sudo chmod 600 /swapfile
sudo mkswap /swapfile
sudo swapon /swapfile
sudo cp /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.bak
echo '/swapfile none swap sw 0 0' | sudo tee -a /etc/fstab

Then type:
free

And you should see swap space.

Do this, and it should run great!

Bonus section, how to save some money running your SmartNode!

Also, if you want cheap hosting try using a 4GB swap space and using cheap hosts. Please note this is "run at your own risk" because the minimum specs are 1GB memory, although swap space can extend virtual memory and this may work for now, but may need to be changed later.
