SmartCash Update

Hey guys,

As a member of Team SmartCash here on Steemit, I feel a little bit of responsibility around educating the rest of the Steemit community on what the tip structure is actually trying to achieve.

The idea is that by incentivising users on Steemit to blog about SmartCash, that a grassroots marketing campaign will spread the word, increasing SEO rankings as it happens.

It’s definitely working, with the SmartCash community on Steemit growing every day. Unfortunately however, we haven’t seen the quality of content grow with it.

As a result, in the latest Team SmartCash Steemit Weekly Update blog, outlined some key changes to the Steemit tipping guidelines.

“We want to keep Team SmartCash on Steemit going for as long as possible to reward great and original content and celebrate this awesome community of people that we have here on Steemit. However, we also want to celebrate quality of posts over quantity of posts and make it fair for the people who take time and effort to create awesome SmartCash related content.”

You can find the full list of guidelines that you must now follow if you want to receive your SMART tip by clicking the link above and reading the official team @smartcash’s latest blog.

Honestly though, it’s totally fair enough. I said in the comments that the changes to the tipping structure quite simply had to happen. There is just too much copy/paste junk being posted to the tag and the community’s strength is quickly turning into a weakness.

I find it highly ironic that since that rule change from the official account (at the time I’m writing this 12 hours later), there have only been three posts tagged with #smartcash. Two are unrelated junk and the third is a generic post that will borderline qualify for a tip.

Let’s hope that the quality of SmartCash content does actually increase and that the exposure that the coin receives as a result, is actually positive.

✌🏻.

@forexbrokr there has been a lots of half baked lazy work. Post where the writer clearly does not understand the concept they present. It's misleading to hear #smartcash called a staking coin and another one was to call the Hive Team a crowd funding platform Hopefully time would be taken to read.

Cheers nitego. Let’s see if this renewed focus on quality increases the community’s knowledge.

Keep up the great work! I'm so excited about Smartcash!

A lot of us are! 😎

Quality content is what it's all about.

We hope that we can live up to expectations!

I’m sure you will.

😉

@smartcash, Upvoted. Looking forward to what you have in store in the Steemit community! Press on!

Thanks CJ. I'll hopefully see you around.

Thank you for sharing useful information. You have done justice and also want to share with your friends

No worries. I hope it just helps to reinforce smartcash's message.

Thanks for sharing.

Hope it helps reinforce smartcash's message.

Seems like a good way to handle this. I'm pretty new in SmartCash and not 100% how this worked before with tip but quality over quantity is good. I'm setting up a smartnode and will probably buy some more smartcash to setup 2 or 3 smartnodes :)

It's really just common sense, right? Don't post crap, and you'll be fine. Simple haha!

Hey big spender! I look forward to reading about your journey on the #smartcash tag :)

Nice post. Voted

You send this generic message to everyone. You are the type of spammer that both Steemit and team @smartcash are trying to get rid of.

thanks so much for this post! I hope that others take the time to read this one as well as the new guidelines :)
Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will see the junk in the tag die out once those users (or one user with multiple junk accounts) realises that its not a good way to earn tips... It's gonna be nice to be able to enjoy reading quality posts in the tag without having to trawl through the BS anymore :)

No worries Hannah. Thanks for all you do for the community. It's appreciated!

Visited the smartcash junk and laughed.

Well it's a nice blog, it's just got nothing to do with SmartCash. I take it that she used the SmartCash tag in hope of trying to get an extra bit of cash through a tip? Would she have gotten tipped in the past lol?

Good suspections. But smartcash should not gave her a tip if her previous posts were all unrelated like that one. The new smartcash tip changes is good I would say.

Thank you for the information and create a stronger and more committed community.

Quality content will be of benefit to the entire community. Let’s try to encourage it.

This new update from the Hive is a welcome addition to increase quality. It was just too easy before. I hope to see some great articles coming up.

You’re certainly keeping the quality of SmartCash content on the tag high. Keep up the great work!

I watched smartcash suddenly pop up and thought they were doing a really good job of grass roots marketing on steemit.

I'm still a bit on the fence about it though - there seems to be a few coins competing for the "cash" claim and I'm not sure about what makes smartcash better.

I'm not saying it's not a good coin - just that it's hard to see through the hype.

That's fair. For me, SmartCash has a cool community driven, decentralised structure that helps set it apart. Plenty of masternodes up and running already. Plenty of potential at these low prices.

If it's catching your eye, then the community marketing effort is definitely doing it's job. :)

Makes sense - the people I’ve seen blog about smartcash are all pretty community oriented. It definitely caught my eye - at one point it was all over my feed! :)
