The Monday March 26th Edition of The Cryptocurrency Novice Report

Word to the Wise

Today on Word to the Wise we feature another Bitcoin cloud mining company called Hashter.

As a bonus incentive Hashter offers you 100Gh/s of free hashing power just for signing up.

They make it simple to get started, just send them some Bitcoin and you are assigned hashing power based on their four payment tiers.

Oddly, they claim the Pro tier is the "Best Value", but obviously the Business and Extended tiers are better values since the price per Gh/s decreases in the higher tiers.

Once you purchase a tier, you don't have to worry about it ever again, since you receive "lifetime" earnings with every purchase.

This sounded like a great opportunity. So I decided to give it a try and registered to get the free hashpower. When I checked my account, there was my 100 Gh/s of free hashing power already working away making me rich, rich, rich!

To get a feel for how quickly the money would be rolling in, I consulted their calculator. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me just enter my free 100 Gh/s but using a little math and the default minimum, I quickly deduced that I would be earning a whopping 0.00035622 BTC each month.

Knowing that it would only be a matter of time before I was a Bitcoin millionaire, I decided to look at what I would have to do to withdraw my new found wealth...and there it was. The fly in the ointment. My free hash power's Achielles' heel.

My dreams of retiring to my Bitcoin powered mega yacht were crushed. Because as we all know here at Word to the Wise, any time you have to send them money before you can withdraw your free earnings, it's a scam. Haster, like so many other cloud mining sites that offer free hashpower for signing up, is just trying to trick you into sending them money. Don't fall for it. Avoid Hashter and all scam cloud mining sites like it.

Money For Nothing

Usually on Money For Nothing I present ways to get a little free crypto with no upfront costs other than perhaps a little electricity. But today's free money is a little different. Today I'm going to show you how to get regular monthly distributions of Smartcash just by holding the cryptocurrency.

Smartcash was launched back in July 2017 and since then has developed a strong and loyal following. One of the reasons for it's popularity is the monthly distributions, called SmartRewards. SmartRewards are monthly payments made to holders of at least 1000 Smartcash for 30 days or more. The payments occur on the 25th of each month and you can see below a snapshot of the SmartRewards sent to my wallet for the last three months.

The 3 main things to remember to earn Smartrewards:

1. You need a minimum 1000 Smartcash.
2. You must hold them in your wallet for at least 30 days.
3. You receive a payout on the 25th of each month.

It's that simple!

Since Smartcash is a mineable coin, you can earn some or all of the 1000 coins needed by mining with a GPU. The Report

The cryptocurrency market is having a rather tumultuous day with most coins lower today. Here is what our favorite coins are up to at the moment.

Currently Bitcoin is trading at $7962, down almost 8% in the last 24 hours.

Smartcash is trading at $0.101 right now, down just over 5% since yesterday afternoon.

Steem and SBD are both having a rough day. Currently Steem is trading at $1.79, down just over 13% in the last 24 hours while SBD is also trading at $1.79, down 12.75% since this time yesterday.

The Steemit Market is a little out of sync with the broader market this afternoon. Currently Steem is trading at 1.013 SBD. Since there is no price difference between the two coins right now, the price of Steem should be effectively 1 SBD. Make your trades accordingly and profit where you can.

The supply of liquid Steem expanded for the first time in several weeks. Currently there are 76.8 million liquid Steem. The increase in liquid Steem was small, only about 35,000 in the last two days, but we'll keep an eye on it to make sure this is a short term aberration and not the start of a new trend.
