Mining pool is a server that allocated the calculation tasks among all its participants.
Mining in the pool can be compared to the work of bees in a hive.
Each member entering the pool sends a power of its equipment to decrypt the block, and receives a reward. Even if the performance of the device is low, the participant will receive a proportionate share in the total earnings.
Official SmartCash pools have 0% fees, which makes mining both more profitable and efficient at the same time.
The pool has better chances to find a block of transactions and receive a reward than a single miner. However, if you participate in the pool, then the profit will have to be shared with all participants in the "pool". But for most miners it is still the most profitable option.
SmartCash is built on the Keccak algorithm, so mining on the GPU NVIDIA is no less effective than on AMD GPU. This in some way is a competitive advantage among other coins.
The SmartCash pools are used PROP model to reward participants. This is a proportional model, according to which the reward for the block is divided strictly proportional to the shares sent from each miner. Once the block is found, the counter of the received shares is reset and counting starts from zero.
Earlier solo mining was quite profitable, but now it is very difficult - success will be only when you will mine the newest cryptocurrency. Mining the nearly all popular cryptocurrency in solo mode is very unprofitable for many reasons.
