What is Smart Containers, and how does it work?

Smart Containers is the future of cloud storage, providing a way for companies to purchase storage the blockchain, and users to be able to sell their free storage space on their PC. Smart Containers completely eliminates middlemen companies by allowing customers to buy the storage directly from the users, guaranteeing a better price for the customer and more earnings for the host.

Wait, did I hear that right? Earnings?

Yes. Yes, you did. The nodes hosting the blockchain are paid for in SMARC Coin (more on that later). These nodes are paid for their uptime and how much total storage they put into hosting the blockchain.

Wait, aren't blockchains public? Can't anyone see this information?

Well... Yes and no. Publically accessible parts, or whatever you/the customer chooses to be hosted publically, will be hosted on a blockchain similar to the Ethereum blockchain. Other private information will be placed on a blockchain similar to Fabric from the Hypeledger Foundation. Only you will have the keys to your private storage, and everything will be encrypted and secured so no one else will be able to access them unless they have the keys.

Wait, What's that SMARC coin again?

Smart Containers is hoping to be able to raise $40 million USD (hard cap) across SMARC coin and LOGI coin. The ICO will be distributed as such: $36 million USD to 120 million SMARC and $4 million USD to 20 million LOGI. There is a total token supply of 150 million SMARC and 100 million LOGI.

SMARC will be used as the main coin, where the source of income will come from, while LOGI will be used to fuel smart contracts.

That's dandy and all, but where can I use it/invest?

SmartContainers is currently in ICO phase, with a hard cap of $40 million USD. You can apply to join the whitelist for investing on their website. They are currently running a 25% off sale if you would like to check it out.

At the moment, there is no open BETA, and I have not been able to find a closed BETA. I would keep an eye on their website for the next couple of months and wait for them to come out of a closed BETA and release to the public

All in all, Smart Containers seems to have a lot of potential as an ICO, but remember, it is just that. An ICO. Be careful investing anything into any ICO, and make sure you do your own research when investing! You can find more information on their website

Thanks for the Post Kiwi, though the information is not correct. We have a working logistic temperature sensitive container working, mainly used ofr Pharma. It does not have anything to do with Computer Hardware or Cloud Storage.

Still, thanks for the mentioning. For those interested they should go to our official steemit channel or our website www.smartcontainers.ch.

@smartcontainers

Ah, I apologize. I will try to create an update post with the correct information from the link provided.
