Qualcomm recently held a meeting with several Chinese smartphone vendors in Beijing, last Thursday (25/1/2018). Oppo as one of the present vendors claimed to be working on a smartphone with 5G connectivity.
According to Oppo CEO, Tony Chen, Oppo has been doing research for 5G connectivity with Qualcomm for three years.
It put Oppo as one of the world's few smartphone manufacturers (OEMs) that produce 5G smartphones in the first wave.
In addition, Chen said that Oppo is probably not the first to adopt the 5G standard, but has become one of the two mobile manufacturers to create 5G-capable products.</ Code>
