Reflecting

in smartphonephotography •  7 years ago

Today was a professional development day. I’m feeling pretty exhausted as my session was about Canadian Residential Schools. If you don’t know the history, suffice it is a dark one. So I’ve done a lot of reflection on my understanding of Canada, of my teaching, and essentially my beliefs about education.
But I can’t really seem to communicate all that reflection and analysis with words right now, so instead I give you this pretty picture of some water reflecting some mountains. I’m also going to enter it in this weeks smartphone photography contest.
Thanks for popping by!

I love the simplicity and solitude of this shot!

Thank you so much! It’s a beautiful place.

A terrible scar on our wonderful country. To think of the horrors those families felt is heartwrenching. I just cannot imagine. Hopefully the more people learn about these events, the more we can understand that love is the way our world changes...

I 100% agree.
The workshop we did had survivors running it. I spent most of it sobbing.
But certainly unveiling the truth and trying to build understanding and a culture of love is the only way forward.
Thanks!
