Tunneling

Tunneling is important for the construction of roads, hydropower plant, mining and so on. The tunneling must be done where there are no faults, fractures or joints which may result in leakage and groung water problems. While tunneling, the tunneling should be done in the direction perpendicular to dip of the rock. If there is the presence of weak rocks or fractures bolting is done inorder to stablize it.
