Proverbs 19:2
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
John Gill in his 16th century commentary comments: This is true of the King of kings, who one day will be terrible to the drunkards, the mockers, and murderers of his people, before spoken of; [whoso] provoketh him to anger sinneth [against] his own soul;
Generally speaking this verse can be taken as to apply to all kings upon the earth, whose wrath can be quite formidable. the Biblical mandate for government is not election of an apostate by apostates or pagans by pagans, but by appointment of God. Even in this case it is not the perfect situation but a punishment of sorts to nations that would choose rather to be ruled by men rather than righteousness. God Rebuked Israel before giving them King Saul for wanting a KING rather than God.
Even so, Kings that are anointed by God are all trough the scriptures.
In America we have no King. the president is not a KING at least he was not designed to be so but rather a "president" civilian from among the people.
Those who broke from England in 1776 made this proclamation: No King But Jesus
