24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:24-27

The question is not weather or not a storm is coming the question is when..

Please note dear reader that the storm will come, and not just a shower. The rain will descend and the flood will come and the wind will blow and beat upon your house. The question is not If but When.

Will you be as the first example and build your house upon the rock of the Lord Jesus Christ, building your house according to his detailed instructions in the exact spot that he commands or will you build where you want When you want and how you want?

Will you hear his words and DO THEM or Hear them and do them not?

Is it not interesting that both the wise and foolish builder both built houses that they thought would protect them from the descending rain and howling winds? Both must have heard the warnings of the judgement to come and the possibility of salvation. These homes were built to last, even the scriptures tell us that the destruction of the houses was NOT due to faulty construction or materials. it was Not because one home was finished and one was unfinished. Both hoses were complete, both houses were supplied, both builders were earnest in their efforts to protect their families and possessions.
To the outside observer there actually may have been very little observable difference.

The Wise man's house took a lot more work to get started, there must have been a great conviction in the work..
he could have built upon the the sand but HE and the Unwise man had hear the instructions and were to build upon the ROCK. Only ONE man who called Jesus LORD actually meant what he said.
Luke 6:46-49
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
