Coffee anybody?

in smartphonephotography •  7 years ago  (edited)

This is how your morning coffee looks when it is still a fruit.

I took this shot during a hike to one of the viewpoints around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. I had to take it on my iPhone 5s because there are reports of "bandidos" at the top. So I just took my old phone and a bit of money. It turns out those are just locals charging you, even though you pay the official entrance. Allegedly they don't take your other stuff so next time I am bringing my full gear.

Nevertheless it turned out pretty good. There is lots of coffee plants on the way so I had to steal few fruits for the shot. Hopefully local farmers won't mind

Awesome shot, especially with a phone! Really cool perspective.

Resteemed!

Awesome, thanks so much! 🤗

Fruit of labor right there! Plus the dirt on the hands adds more beauty to the story! Awesome!

Thanks Aljon! 🤗

That's with a 5s?? Holy dang. That's amazing. Gorgeous shot, with or without a "real" camera!

Thanks so much mate! I was surprised as well. Though you can see a bit of weird light in the top left corner and I had to add a flare to mask a problematic spot. You can always check metadata if it is hard to believe 😜

This is actually amazing! I've been feeling down on myself thinking I need the newest smartphone to achieve great pictures, but you have absolutely proven me wrong! Love Lali xx

Indeed, it is never about the gear :)

No worries, I believed you :) I wouldn't have known iPhone shot at 32 ISO though.

ha, just saw it! This camera keeps surprising me. Will try to edit some more shots from that day and upload it. Indeed, it is not always necessary to have the top gear.

Nice thought dear..

Awesome click with your phone. I loved it ... And the mountains in background looks amazing...

Thanks @foodyshoody! 🤗

Wow, this is very interesting shot. I love the separation of the subject to the background while complementing each other's beauty.

Thanks man! Actually I didn't edit the blur, it is original from the photo. I was very positively surprised by the old iPhone camera!

Yes, iPhone produces good bokeh. I have the iPhone SE and I'm always contented with its camera.
