Childhood Memories

in smartphonephotography •  7 years ago

Over the years as technology, health habits and society changes so does the world around it. I still reminisce about the old days with video game arcades and getting gum balls out of stand up machines. When I see one of these things it brings me back to when I was a kid.

Candy-1.jpg

From time to time its good to fell like a kids again. Even if its something as silly as a candy vending machine.

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for reading.

Thanks for reminding us that we still have a child inside us.... with great memories like this pic.. loved it

Brings me back too..
I miss those days, life was so simple and now look at where we are..
Growing up in the 80's and 90's will just never be a thing again and we're lucky to have experienced that lifestyle.
In comparison.. I'd prefer it to modern day.. even if technology and medicine is more "advanced" I think society as a whole is just going backwards rapidly and it's just sad to watch.. :(

Great post though! :)
It's nice to see something nostalgic and smile at happy memories, so thank you!

The memories are beautiful. I also remember when I was watching cartoons and there was a connection between people in the video that was less exaggerated in fiction but now things have evolved into something more.

Despite being 28 years old, I always thought like Peter Pan... why are we not children... or why did we lose the innocence of that time? now we are surrounded by malice anywhere... 😪

I'd like to raise money and buy a time machine! 😅

Classic bubblegums :)

These machines remind me of walking to school, everyday I would meet up with my friends outside the local shop "Jacks" and from there we would walk down to the school. There would be nearly 100 people there every morning.

I always remember the very odd time you would put your money in, turn the handle the gum would drop and the handle would spring back, to your surprise the coin would still be there! That was always a good day.

It was a simpler time... LOL Now I sound like an old man!

its really good photography.i think Everything is different when you’re a child: the trees are higher, the colours are brighter, and every new day is more interesting that the last. Even more importantly, some things happen that stay in our memory for a long time — in fact, sometimes they end up being with us forever.

For those who remember those moments from their childhood, Bright Side collected the following beautiful anecdotes — from the amusing to the sublime and touching. Maybe something similar happened to you as well?

I can understand this one for sure.
We still have a gumball machine in our office. Not sure how old that gum is but still use it every now and then.
No one has died...yet.

@scottdphoto I totally agreed. Sometimes I would go into the store and see if I can still get some of the snacks that I ate when I was a kid and buy that for that nostalgia feeling. Sometimes, I wish I can turn back the clock.

Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend

In long time ago. It's think of time as a child.

My favourite gum is Thrills. Tastes like soap. You either love it or you hate it. When I was a kid, there was a gumball machine at a local mall that dispensed Thrills. Every time I visited the mall I would get some. One day it was broken and dispensing Thrills for free. It was the biggest blowout sale ever -- 100% off. So, I opened up the pocket of my jacket and filled it to overflowing. Nice!

I have never seen this ever. I guess i'm just from a different generation.

So beautiful memories @scottdphoto, how long do you keep them?

I remember these vending machines. I loved them when I was a kid and my son loved them 30 years later.

I vote for this Amazing post! Do you want to follow me back?

Child would love play that .me also lol

Awesome Post

It was a penny when I was a kid and it was just inside the "dime store" doors.
Grandma gave my brother and I a quarter each and sent us down the road. Yes! We walked down the street (uh...road) by ourselves bare foot mind you. There was no sign about shirts or shoes back then, that came latter in the 70's when people started to get up-tight. 1/4 of a dollar got me a slingshot with two parachuting GI's and a Dr Pepper out of the machine out front. That toy didn't make it but the memory did.
Thanks for bringing that back!

Great post. Brings back such good memories.
