Mournful Salute and Reverence,
Do What thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Greetings, fellow Smokers!
I am back, after surviving the first part of my weed sampling endeavors!
I waked and baked, a little while ago, smoking a relatively small, yet pungently potent joint of Grape Kush, and DAMN was that ever an awesomely tasty way of getting started! But I'll get back to that later...
For those of you who might not have yet read my former post, I received yesterday a very pleasant box in the mail, after ordering from MyKush.Ca a few days prior...
You can find the post here: https://smoke.io/smoking/@maelstrohmblack/i-just-received-my-new-order-from-mykush-ca-teaser
So, since yesterday, I have savored a few joints from various strains, and as you can see from the order list in the previous post, variety is the name of the game here!
The first strain I tried was Lemon Haze
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"Lemon Haze is a cross between Silver Haze and Lemon Skunk, it is a strong and versatile bud, with many desirable properties:
A hard hitting strain will leave your feeling extremely euphoric and happy. It is often recommended when you have had a rough day.
It will leave you a bit mellow and relaxed, a few more hits and you may even start experiencing symptoms of couch-lock.
Lemon Haze is effective at treating depression, stress and chronic pains and aches.
Lemon Haze carries a strong citrus aroma, and a similar sweet aftertaste.
An increase in cerebral activity may lead to stimulating conversation, and it is a great strain to enjoy with friends."
I really enjoyed this one, never had tried it before. I actually never have had any of the strains I just received! Smoking this was quite a pleasant taste, the flavor hinted of citrus notes with a sweet mellow exhale, instead of somewhat harsh, as some more earthy indicas might seem.
Being a sativa dominant hybrid, the buzz was indeed uplifting and euphoric, especially as it had been my first time smoking that day, so I cannot deny the smile I had on my face. It is, as described, a truly energizing strain and would definitely be quite the panacea at the end of particularly demanding day.
This bud smelled light and broke down easy without the help of a grinder, even though it wasn't too dry. Being fresh enough, it remained in textured chunks, perfect for combustion. However light the smell might be, once fired up, the smoke produced is quite thick and fragrant, so you might want to crack a window open (or not) lol
It was one of my favorites and I definitely recommend it!
The second strain I tasted was Peanut Butter Breath
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"Peanut Butter Breath is a relatively new strain to the industry. PB Breath is known to be a fairly even 50/50 hybrid and has been traced back to Dosidos x Mendobreath f2. The nugs in this plant are usually smaller, very dense, covered in frosty keef, and give off a very light green coloring. The name is somewhat misleading when it comes to the smell and taste of this bud; our Peanut Butter Breath smells and tastes of fresh pine with an herbal, earthy finish. This is a great smoke for anyone who wants to kick back, relax, and maybe grab a few munchies!"
As this one is a more balanced hybrid, you can definitely appreciate the earthiness in the aroma, even in the texture. It's VERY resinous and coated in trichomes, so prepare to have sticky fingers lol
Once again, the freshness was peak, but, even though I am fond of breaking down bud by hand, I might have needed a grinder for this one, especially one that has a chamber to collect the goodies left over...
It rolled easily into a fairly big joint that literally sat me on my arse! The smoke is really dense, even a bit harsh and coughworthy, but still pleasantly tasty, especially if you like creamy, nutty and sweet flavors. The buzz is a bit slow to kick in at first, but once it spreads, you'll get overtaken by a soothing general feeling of physical relaxation. This feeling will be accompanied by a complementary, somewhat light headed sense of calm, but not somnolence, as the sativa elements keep you from falling under the effects of couch lock, you instead remaining surprisingly lucid and creative. I played and composed musick for hours on my laptop after I smoked this! Get ready for a delirious case of the munchies afterwards, however...
The third strain I sampled was...
And here is the funny part of this post!
I should be telling you that the 3rd and 4th strains I tried were respectively White Cheese and Cookies Kush Organic ... But I LITERALLY PASSED OUT LMAO!!!
I'm not even sure which picture is what bud lol
I think this one's the Cheese lol
I was too hungry and had rolled up both the White Cheese and the Cookies Kush and then decided to smoke both of them in a row! So you can easily understand why this part might be lacking a bit, information wise lol (so am I haha)
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"White Cheese from Zambeza Seeds is an indica-dominant hybrid that crosses Super Skunk and Afghani genetics. It carries the skunky cheese aroma with an earthy note and provides relaxing indica effects without being a total knock-out. Its euphoric buzz keeps away stress and anxiety. The short flowering cycle, compact nature, and large yields make White Cheese especially attractive to growers."
I remember the taste being somewhat earthy, but much less than the Peanut Butter Breath. The Cheese had an almost sour taste to it. Personally, I can't say it was my favorite. It seems I still liked it enough to finish smoking the whole thing lol
I definitely will need to revisit this one in another post, eventually...
After the Cheese, I also smoked a reasonably big joint of Cookies Kush, as I mentioned before.
I don't remember much about this one either, aside from the fact that I noticed it was the freshest bud I had rolled yet out of all those I tried so far. It might have needed to be left a bit out dry for a half hour before rolling it. I also remember it smelled VERY vegetably, if I can coin the term, almost like greens from your garden lol maybe it's all that organicness for you lmao
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"Cookies Kush from Barney’s Coffeeshop combines Girl Scout Cookies with the Rolex phenotype of OG Kush, resulting in a potent indica cross worthy of 1st place in High Times’ 2014 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup in the “Best Coffeeshop Strain” category."
I won't lie and pretend I remember much more from this one, aside from its fruity light taste and needing to light the joint a few times while smoking it, as it died down once or twice. I will also have to come back to this one at a later time...
After smoking all this weed, I WAS SO GODDAMN STONED that I only remember playing musick on my laptop for a while, then I came to, hours later, after passing out in my deskchair lmao
Luckily, I'm never too stoned that I forget to save the progress of the song I am working on, I shall tell you about it when it's complete eventually, but that's another story...
Even though I passed out, I can still tell you about the final strain I tried before migrating from my chair to my bed...
I finished myself off by smoking some Romulan
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"Romulan, named after the alien Star Trek race, is a powerful indica revered for its potent therapeutic qualities. A deep, sedating relaxation makes Romulan a favorite strain for patients treating muscle spasms and nerve damage. Romulan is sought for pain relief, and may relieve even some of the worst chronic aches and pains. This strain is often chosen by those dealing with insomnia and as such should not be used during the day. It is great to alleviate the effects of stress and anxiety disorders, depression and various stomach problems. The “munchies effect” of Romulan is very strong, and it is an effective smoke for eating disorders and nausea. Romulan has a sweet earthy smell and taste, with hints of pine and citrus.
Couch-lock is common when smoking Romulan, so it’s best saved for late nights or rainy days at home.
Lineage: North American Indica, White Rhino"
As this one is a straightforward indica strain, it was recommended for nighttime use. I could understand why after only a few tokes! The buzz is overwhelmingly physical, but still accompanied by a happy feeling of euphoric wellness. The bud was thick with resinous trichomes but still broke down well by hand and rolled easily, however sticky it made the fingers. The smell and taste were amongst the more earthy kind, some of the densest smoke I have tasted, but not as coughworthy as one might think. Definitely a pleasant smoke!
I can vouch for its effectiveness at putting you to sleep and I don't recommend smoking this daytime, as I set myself in bed to watch some tv show, right after smoking, but never got a chance to see much of the episode...
After I slept like a log without interruption for almost 8 hours, I awoke, fresh and rested, and started my day with a tasty treat, A Grape Kush wake & bake!
According to the description on MyKush.Ca:
"An intense smelling strain created from DJ Short’s Blueberry gene pool, Grape Krush brings together those awesome and relaxing Indica attributes we all know and love. This Grape crushes anxiety, chronic pain, sleeplessness, and depression while transporting the consumer to nirvana. A true Hybrid in every sense of the word, this sweet and flavorful alternative to the OG Blueberry, is a strain you won’t soon forget.
Hybrid – 50% Sativa /50% Indica
Average THC 16 – 18%"
I can agree that this strain has quite an intense smell, truly reminiscent of grapes, and it can be appreciated even more once you begin handling the bud to break it down, even though it's a hybrid, the texture and stickiness definitely remind you of an indica.
The taste was very peculiar, but I liked it a lot, never had I tasted anything like it before. The buzz is a mix of physical and cerebral effects, along with a slight, but not negligible feeling of euphoria and happiness. Its already been a few hours since I started writing this post and I still can feel stoned. Definitely another of my favorites, maybe even my favorite...
So that's it, that's wraps it up for now! There still is much yet to be tasted, so keep watching my feed for more posts!
Thank you for reading, smoking and re-smoking and may the weed be with you!
Love is the Law, love under will.
