'Ship, my ship.
The West I seek,
and fields
and mountains
always blessed ... '(1)

Place: Orense and Lugo

Los Cañones del Sil, an eighth wonder, whose protagonism is shared by two Galician provinces, media, mysterious, beautiful, whose infinite paths also look to the West, as every pilgrim knows and as Bilbo sought, that endearing character of Middle-earth Tolkiana: Orense and Lugo.

If contemplating, from any of its many viewpoints, this generous natural phenomenon already constitutes, in itself, a sublime experience, having the opportunity to navigate it, even in a short stretch - or perhaps a long one, a circumstance that ultimately, once embarked, it always becomes really short - it's something truly spectacular.

An experience, where messages become paradigms and these in fragile poems that, like soap bubbles-like those subtle worlds where the Muses of Machado also sailed, before exploding and immortalized in ink-invite you to dream.
Steep peaks, some with unmistakable pyramid shape, alternate, from section to section, with more docile mounts in whose sansonic back, metaphorically speaking, rows of sacred strains are glimpsed, whose vision invites the dream of tasting that noetic nectar, whose denomination of origin, Ribera Sacra, indicates to perfection a place blessed since the dawn of time.

Not in vain, of course, both inside and leaning vertiginously to those balconies harmoniously carved by the rivers Sil and Miño, we are in a region where the largest number of monasteries in Galicia proliferate, like a firmament of stars anchored on land. .

And although this video does not show, it would be difficult, being carried away by the imagination and the current, not listening, dragged by the singing waters, the sound, anchored in time or wandering on the banks, the bells of its towers and Te Deum laudamus from the throats of monks who glorified Creation, from this paradise in which they lived.
Towards the West: good trip through the Sil Canyons.
