As we all know snake bite can cause damage to human body which might lead to death.I remember two months ago while walking on my way home, snake bit me.Blood oozed from my wound and there was a holes on my left ankle.
I tied a T-shirt tightly around my leg above the ankle, just like I have seen in a movie.Soon I was vomiting blood, and then passed out.

My uncle took me to a nearby community clinic.Instead of getting better By the third day, I was bleeding from every orifice and urine ran red.The doctors were as bewildered as the nurse nothing they did worked

The venom destroyed the tissues ofbody and could only be neutralized by an antivenom.
It was one of my luckiest day as there was this old lady called Makens who has helped so many people with the same issue. But first, Makena needed to know which snake had bitten me. She had a clue: the green lightning that she saw after smelling the bite signaled a green viper, either Trimeresurus albolabris or T. insularis, species native to Java that cause systemic hemorrhages.

She knew that WHO guidelines state that "recently expired antivenom" can be considered treatment, but only as a last resort. She had marked this sentence and read it several times. Makena also consulted other experts from QSMI who said an expired antidote could work and the worst outcome would be acute kidney injury.

She ordered her staff to leave the room. She knew that this decision would ruin her career. "If something bad happens, it's my fault," she told herself.

Days later, I walked out, fatigued and limping on a swollen leg, but otherwise healthy.

Where snakes and humans coexist, humans get bitten. And when severe poisoning occurs, doctors can only rely on the antidote to save the patient.

An antidote is made up of many proteins, including antibodies that bind to and deactivate venom molecules. These antibodies are collected from an animal usually a horse or sheep that has been injected with snake venom to stimulate an immune response. An antidote only works against the venom of the snake species that was used to make it
