Why are kids less scared than adults????

Think about it, kids are less likely to be afraid of most things adults are afraid of. Why is that? Certainly they aren’t stronger than us, right? Are they braver than us? This couldn’t be, could it? It’s not because they are less smart than we are, is it? Well, even though I have no scientific facts to back up my theory, this is what I think.....

I believe as adults, you’ve either been into snakes or you’ve not been. If you are not, why? Did you have a bad experienced with a snake? Were you forced to be around a snake and didn’t want to be? OR (and this is my opinion only, no proof) is it because other family members had an irrational fear of them and passed it on to you? I believe as children how we see the way our parents, cousins, aunts, brothers, grandparents, or whomever acts is how we start to act. I believe it is like a learned behavior. Maybe, they’ve seen venomous snakes on tv programming. Maybe they were bitten, but never were told that not all snakes will harm you. I believe this is why my wife absolutely refuses to attempt to hold/touch any of our scale babies and my two year old granddaughter absolutely adores them and shows no signs or hesitation.

Well, we shouldn’t teach children that young that it’s ok to play with snakes!! What if they pick up a wild one that’s dangerous? What I say to this is that’s exactly why you get children interested in them young!!! When they are interested, like most other subjects, the more likely they are to learn. For example, my granddaughter loves our snakies, BUT because of that when I take her to the zoo or somewhere where they have venomous snakes now I have her attention. Her new found love of these misunderstood reptiles has made it where I can point to a rattlesnake in the cage and she’s focused in when I tell her it’s a bad snakie because it will hurt her. Instead of being afraid she looks at it the whole time, and I see that little sponge of a brain soak it in as she repeats, “bad snakie, hurts me”. 😂😂 If y’all can’t tell I love this little girl to the moon and back.

In closing, I want to express that this is one of the reasons here at B-S Balls we want to further on this path. We want to be able to educate children and even adults that can get past the fear they’ve had inbedded into their heads. No, I’m not saying I want little kids going and randomly picking up snakes isn’t good practice. Just like touching a hot pan, climbing on the tables, or whatever the case may be, they can get hurt if they aren’t taught. Let’s not wait to try and teach them when they already have that fear there, rather in a responsible manner let us as open minded adults teach them as young as possible. Get those little minds thinking openly from the beginning. It is my humble opinion, that with other things as well, this is how we should approach this situation.

As always y’all, do me a favor and give us a vote, a follow and take care!
