Voting For SNAX Block Producers

in snax •  6 years ago

After the successful binding of my SNAX account with both Twitter and Steem acounts it is time to put the Steem SNAX bounty to some good use.

Please, follow me in this short how to vote for SNAX block producers tutorial.

A side note: a block producer (or BP) has in the world of EOS the same role as has the witness here on Steem. They run nodes and confirm blocks and get rewarded for it. DPOS, in short :)

For voting to work, you have to have SNAX account with some tokens in it and a SNAX-Voter installed.

Staking

All the following screens are taken from the SNAX-Voter client.

My account before the additional staking is as follows:

I already have some SNAX staked:

Only staked (vested) tokens count when you cast your vote.

So I will stake the remainder of my stash:

Voting

I already vote for two producers:

Ps: these two BPs are well known here on Steem. They are @dragosroua and @hidden84 / @svemirac.

The producers' situation as shown on STAX block explorer before additional staking took place:

And after the staking:

Do you notice the difference? Yes, newly staked SNAX tokens are there. Good!

Next steps

SNAX blockchain started with invited producers. Yet, we can all join the party. Shall we do that? Here is the node software on GitHub ...

Good work man... Still I don't know what is the final aim of snax but your guide is awesome, thanks

Thanks. Hm, according to the white paper Snax aims to be an overlay dapp. Instead of creating native social attention platform, they are making bindings to existing platforms and using their metrics in own algorithms to award the content creators. Maybe and when my understanding is correct 😉

I still don't know where the money will come from... Well, we were asking the same question when Steem was young and now we accept it as a given.

Ps:this comment is written with new eSteem mobile 2.1...
