Volunteer!

It was 4 years ago when I decided to go on a new adventure in my life. Volunteering was a term that I heard a few time when I was young, but didn't know much about it. People were calling me crazy as I was really comfortable with my family in my city, but I needed something to educate myself, feel myself productive again and start a new adventure in my life.

When people are asked to volunteer and touch someone's life, they usually prefer to be away from it as volunteering means giving something from yourself without expecting anything from the other side. It sounds something hard to do as there are many opportunities to enjoy yourself and earn money in your own borders, right?

However, there are lots of amazing things that you can experience in your life. Volunteering is a great chance which helps you to realize the meaning of life and being useful for the world that we are all sharing. Money and your comfort zone may help you to feel so secure in your life, but there are some amazing things in the zone that you are afraid of getting in. Volunteering at home or abroad will help you to notice the things and break the barriers that we usually create in our minds. You will surely go beyond your borders.

Relieve stress!

Look around yourself for a second. There are lots of things putting pressure on us. Your family, partner, work, responsibilities are surrounding us all the time. You are expected to work and earn money without questioning anything. When people are especially young, they easily feel tired of their lives, which are leading them to frustration. That is totally normally as life is not all about earning money and living with this constant stress. We can't continue our life by feeling this pressure all the time. Volunteering is a great way to relieve your stress as you are allowed to work with no pressure on you at all and you don't have to worry about your finances since you are doing that for yourself and society.

Relieve stress is all connected with happiness. When there is pressure on us, we hardly ever smile or just pretend that we are happy. According to studies, it is really true that helping and touching someone's life makes you happy and relieve the stress. It may sound so artificial and unrealistic, but it really happens. We all need to experience the feeling of being useful. We are not robots. When I don't feel my efficient or productive in my work, I really feel down. What matters to me is to see the positive results on people that I manage to create on people as educator and volunteer.

Empathy

You might be healthy and educated person. Unfortunately, not all people are as lucky as you. There are some people waiting for someone to show the way to bright days. To make it more clear, they need some to smile in this difficult life. They are sometimes African kids who are in need of the attention of the world outside the poor continent. They can also be the children in some parts of the world who are really desperate for some educators who can help them to learn something in life and stay strong against their so-called destiny.

We also need to look at some people who feel that they are getting closer to the ends of their lives. There are many old people who are left alone in nursing houses as their children are in need of money and their personal pleasure. In this case, volunteers can help those people in nursing houses to understand the meaning of life. They might be really at the edge of depression. They need light to feel stronger. Empathy is the key word here. If we want to make things better and be useful for all people without paying attention to their religion, race or nationality, we must be volunteers!

Personal development

Volunteering is not only about touching other people's lives. It is also an amazing opportunity to change your own life. When you are a volunteer abroad, you are likely to learn a new language and culture which will help you to go back your to country with full of experiences. All the experience that you get in your volunteering will be a big plus in your self-development and work resume. Graduation from a university doesn't mean much anymore. We really have to work harder to be successful in our career.

Volunteering might also change the way of your personal decisions. As you break your stereotypes and broaden your mind with new people in a new society, you can feel more courageous to make some dramatic changes in your life. You may even want to stay in your new country, find a partner and start a new life to spend the rest of your new life. That might sound like it is beyond your dreams, but they are really possible. All you need is to be brave and be initiative.

Volunteer's final note

Stop worrying about your life. You live only once and it might be too late to do the things that you dream all the time. Dreams will stay as dreams unless you show some action to make them real. Volunteering can be the way to help you to change your life and educate yourself. If you have any questions, please just share them and I will be glad to answer them. Steem on!
