How exciting for you! I do hope you get accepted to the sandbox summer camp, you will make an awesome contribution to their community. It was awesome watching you on camera too. Best of luck!

Thanks @blanca237. The support of all my new friends and fellow mentors at promo-mentors is really encouraging. I couldn't have imagined when I started on steemit that I would meet so many great people. Cheers for watching and I hope the little trip round Liverpool was entertaining ;-)

Yes, I had a huge grin on my face, hope you decide to make more videos and share them on steemit more often. I was equally as excited to hear that you are writing a novel too, looking forward to buying perhaps a signed copy? lol 😋 and the part about planning to sell your things and go travel YAY! I want to be able to do the same. Big hugs @raj808 😍

Awesome! You are not really camera shy at all for your fist vlog :)

Hey sndbox! If you are reading this, I want to say how I eperienced raj as community worker for #promo-mentors. He is very dedicated in the work he does. One of the most valuable characteristic of a community and volunteer worker, is to stand behind what you are doing.

In our discord community he is devoting hours a week in giving people feedback on fiction and poetry posts. He is one of the mentors that provides extensive feedback for 1 individual. You can see the passion of his to helping people to better themselves. The only negative thing I can say about him, that he sometimes devotes too much somebody which leaves less time for others to be helped.

I hope you will make it raj808!

Thank you for your support @futurethinker. Ha ha, you are right sometimes I get carried away in editing mode and loose track of time. I can only hope I didn't come across too shy, I had to do multiple takes to get my speaking footage because I kept stumbling in my thoughts, despite having a little list of bullet points/prompts out of shot. Got there in the end is the main thing. Thanks for checking out the vlog :-)

Good on you @raj808!
You seemed great, not too nervous at all! But I know exactly how you feel as I did my public vlog yesterday hahaha. On my phone, with horrible wind noise messing up the audio. Not so fun but the excitement of the quest makes it so worth it!
Best of luck to you :)

Thanks @amymya I'm glad I didn't come across too nervous. I certainly felt it ;-)

Rocking the beard Raj! I really hope that you get in sndbox as I feel that literary works have taken a backseat in this community and I feel for a lot of writers that pour out their soul and create awesome stories and poetry but not given the recognition they deserve.

I love the tour you gave and I am rooting for you in this quest.

Thanks @maverickinvictus. I agree that literary works get overlooked sometimes here on steemit. Curie rewards quality fiction quite well and often, but there doesn't seem to be many other big entities really rewarding literary authors on here with votes anyway. There are lots of competitions with prizes, which is cool but mainly it is left up to creative writers to try and support each other which I think is a bit mental considering that crypto articles and development posts are often hugely rewarded with votes. My frustration boils down to the fact that these niche subjects aren't furthering mass adoption of steemit, they are only for the initiated lol. I know of 3 successful published novelists on steemit and the only big rewards they have ever had are from Curie, however the pulling power of established authors to bring new, non-crypto folks on to the platform is massive. It seems like there is some type of perception that this is not the place for short stories, poems and serialized fiction. I hope that one day I gain enough VP and traction on this platform to develop some type of support system myself for the creative writing authors on steemit. After all, what is a writing platform for if not to host creativity in all it's forms. To encourage and develop experimental thinking and embrace art, as well as the more analytical forms of writing. Ha ha, rant over ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed the Liverpool tour buddy, I tried to make the vlog a bit of fun :-)

I think that was the main reason why I changed my blogging habits in Steemit because fiction unfortunately get little support in this platform except for a few curie votes that I see or one when there are writing competitions.

I used to host weekly writing contests for the community I used to belong to but even they don't support participants nor even push people to join so I got tired of it and left.

I hope that you get into sndbox Raj and help the writing community get more traction here.

I have invited a couple of published writers and tried to support them but my upvote is not that high to sustain the interest.

We pretty much have the same rant on literature here.
