Believe it not it's because of me..In 2001 I released a song called "Creps". I am from Nottingham Uk and that's what we liked to call sneakers. The song was play listed on national radio, I spoke about how we should make our own sneakers and have our own brands, I was talking about "decentralisation" way before the internet was big. Way before Jay Z had a hip hop sneaker in store. if you go round Crep stores in the Uk you will see products like "Crep protect" and you will hear everybody call "Sneakers" Creps. Well if your a certain age you won't even know, if your walking past me in a Creps store , you won't even know that you just walked by the guy who started the UK's widespread use of the word "Creps"
it's even in the urban dictionary 
A lot of people might be a sceptic, but hey not every story is known. The best stories are often told after we're gone..

Its a UK thing. London and all over. A lot of grime emcees talk about creps. There was a "Crep check on sb.tv" There are online stores called creps and the above crep protect is in every fooft asylum and JD sports. SO Go see for yourself. peace

ha According to my son I am also old and "old school" been rapping since '93 but kind of semi retired as I do feel too old to be rapping on stage. Even though the odd charity gig gets a quick appearance.
