A Very Special Chicken

in snooksnap •  6 years ago  (edited)

The first day Mom came home from the Rehabilitation Center she asked for @ecoinstante's homemade chicken soup. I don't make it as well as she does but I do know how to make it. It is a wonderful and very easy soup to make. The only problem I had was I didn't have any chicken.

Not able to leave Mom alone, I asked her Gentleman friend Herman if he would be so kind as to pick up a chicken for us. He, of course, did and dropped it off that night.

Days passed. I did not have the time nor energy to make chicken soup until this morning. The video above is what happened after I took the chicken out of the grocery bag to start cooking it for soup.

To all the caregivers out there full and parttime. I don't know how you do it and have a life of your own. You have my respect and I am in awe of your powers of perseverance each day.

I know at some point I will be able to go home.

For those that don't have that, Thank You for being the kind of person that puts your life on hold to take care of someone. You are a very special kind of person. If you have never been thanked for all you do I am here to say it.

THANK YOU!!!

YouTube for those in need

So now we know where "Big Bird" ended up!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
OMG!!!!!!! TOO Funny!

So your eating a happy chicken. So, tell me, did it taste great? better than non organic, chicken? Looks like you ladies had some good laughs. #snappluscomment

We did have a ton of laughs. and I have to admit it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. I'm still not paying 17.00 US for a chicken though :D but it made for a funny day talking about it!!

Right!!!! I know. Haaaaaa. Awsome. IN the by and the organic chicken thighs are cheaper and. But it does taste better doesn't it. Makes you wonder why there's so many sad people around the world maybe they're eating sad chicken's. #snapcomment

Good point :D LOLLLLLLLL or they don't realize how cheap they are eating!!

"No wonder he kept asking about the chicken." HAAAAA!!!!!

I suppose $17 is pretty reasonable. There's the cost of feeding the bird. Not to mention daily visits to the chicken parlor for some feather fluffing and preening. Don't forget the pedicure. Oh! And the massage followed by a seaweed wrap and cucumber facial. (All this is to look good for the personal trainer who is determined to WORK THOSE THIGHS!) Then there is the limo ride to the airport so that it can board a private jet. During the in flight concert, it would be rude if the chicken didn't tip the waitresses and the performers. And of course there's a full meal for a 10 minute flight, peanuts simply aren't filling enough. Finally there's the rental fee and insurance for the blue 1959 Corvette ride to the processing plant.

Really, when you think about it, that's a bargain on such a delicious chicken.

😁😘

It looks good :) Happy cooking ;)
