So if you are unfortunate enough to not live in a warm climate (Like me, insert sad, cold face here.) you sometimes have to deal with the 'S' word. Not 'shit', 'snow'. Although it could be argued that snow is in fact a form of natures shit. Necessary yes, appreciated hell no. Unless hell is freezing over, and if you find yourself unfortunate enough to live up north it seems like it is. Today at 4:45am my wife and I left the comfort of our warm abode to venture forth on our way to our place of employment. We love our job! It pays reasonably well, the people are friendly and the work is not to shabby. However the commute to work is not so pleasant. On days like today its even worse. None of our roads were plowed or salted. In fact, you could not tell the road from the ditch. So after driving for about 15 minutes going 25mph on a 55mph road with a death grip on the steering wheel and fearing for the well-being of my wife's safety I did something I would normally never do. I turned us around and called us off for the day.

So, here comes the point of this post. For those of you that have to deal with the dreaded 'S' word...when do you consider it to risky to drive to make your daily wage? Do you fear repercussions from your employer?

Do you wait till its a level 1?

Do you wait till its a level 2?

Do you wait till its a level 3??

Or are you so hard core that you never call off ever? Throwing caution to the wind and daring Jack Frost to do his worst? Or maybe you work in the transportation industry and you help clear our roads. Seriously though, I really would like to know. I hate missing a days wage, but I like having my car and wife intact at the end of the day, at the beginning of the day as well.
