Tips for an awesome snowboard/skiing adventure for a fair price!
For extreme freaks like me, a snowboard vacation is the best there is when it come to traveling! A big problem is that usually going on one short vacation for snowboarding in a foreign cold European country can cost as much as a much longer trip in India or that area, so here are my tips I gathered for you in my many snow trips! These tips will make your trip much more fun much more flowing and of course, much more cheap! Enjoy reading!

  1. think ahead!
By doing so I mean ordering a hotel room for at least 6 months in advance, I know it sounds a lot of time but 2 months before the skiing season starts, you will have no room on any normal hotel or apartment.
By normal, I mean close to the ski bus stop or even better, to your ski lifts! every morning on your trip can start from taking a bus and riding for half an hour to your ski lift location or just going out of your apartment and start skiing first, while the rest of the skiers are driving or taking the bus.
By taking a far house you can save your hotel/apartment fees but you will have to rent a car and that makes it more expensive but much more convenient and you cant travel the city and enjoy not being dependent on the bus.

  2. Buy/rent your equipment as far as you can from the skiing zone!
Look for large outlet ski shops in your area, they have a large selection for great prices! On your first day, take the time to visit different stores! You will find what you want and for a great price too, that will make your vacation much better! Do not shop at your local ski and come ready! (unless you live in a snowy area, but then… why the hell would you go on a ski trip?), anything you need can be bought much more cheaply in the country you are heading too.
If your planning on going regularly on ski vacations, consider buying shoes and bindings and renting a board only(it damages allot), that will insure you will always have the suitable equipment for you!

  3. Make your own food!
Snowboard and skiing is exhausting, you will be hungry up on the mountain! The skiing resort managers know that! That’s why there are allot of little huts that offer great food, but for a really great price! Making a sandwich at home, taking an energy bar,an apple and a water bottle is all that you need for a great day up the mountain! All that will cost you as a small soup up there, so those 5 minute sandwich making time can save you money and actually ensure that you will get a good amount of energy for your body to function well up there!
Go to the super market and buy an amount of food for your whole vacation, that will save you a long time instead of going there every day, but make a list first!

  4. Stretch! And work out before your trip and on it!
While doing sports in cold weather your mussels still needs to be warm and flexy , take a good 20 minutes before and after skiing for good stretching of your all body! It can save you from an injury and will help you to reduce the cramps the day after!
2 months before your trip it will help you allot to strengthen the commonly used mussels in winter sports, the thigh and hip mussels, doing squats every day can help you allot! You also need to train your back hand (for getting out of the snow) and your back!
By training in advance I saved my self from ruptured and torn mussels, unfortunately my friends did not train and they got injured badly on our trip to Austria!
Remember brining your Orthotics with you on your trip! If you have ones.
Snowboard and skiing shoes are flat shaped and are not suitable for people with orthopedic problems!

There were my tips for a great snow trip! Enjoy life!
