The Nomads Bus - Winter Anecdotes - Tale Four - TOURING

in snowboarding •  7 years ago

Touring in the winter time, when the mountains are full of snow is sort of similar to hiking in the summer, except that at the end of your hike you get the reward of riding down in pluffy snow. Coming down a hill on summer hikes has never been my thing, so I am happy I found the best of both worlds in split boarding. For those of you who don't know what splitboarding is, it basically is a snowboard that you can split into two pieces, so you can use those as skis to skin up a snowy mountain. The 'skins' under your skis make sure you don't slide backwards when hiking up the mountain. It usually takes the biggest part of the day for the uphill part of the trip, but the views make it more than worth it!

If you have never experienced this, I can fully recommend trying it. It will open up a whole other world!
