Eight months after its initial release and more and more cut material from last year’s Justice League continue to surface online.
Twitter user Kevin Miranda has revealed a new behind-the-scenes photo from the troubled DCEU production. The still shows Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash ready for action in a partially destroyed S.T.A.R. Labs.
While S.T.A.R. does briefly appear in the theatrical film, there are no action set pieces set inside suggesting another significant deleted scene, potentially during original director Zack Snyder’s time helming the project. While the team’s opponent during this fight scene is unknown it could be the forces of Steppenwolf recovering a Mother Box or the newly resurrected Superman who initially mistakes the heroes for his enemies.
Justice League had an infamously complicated production history with Snyder stepping down while the film was in post-production. Avengers filmmaker Joss Whedon was brought in Warner Bros. to replace him leading to extensive reshoots and rewrites resulting in a final film that was much different than what was originally planned. While the studio maintains Snyder left the project to handle a family tragedy, rumors have persisted that the director was fired deep into the production.
