Why do I drink too much?

Most people go home after work, tired, sometimes upset, sometimes fed-up, sometimes just content to be home. Many of those pour themselves a drink of alcohol. They sit down and slowly digest the day ... and then some get up to get another drink, and another and another ... until life as they know it becomes an oblivion of nothingness, a numbness.
Alcohol is a slow killer, not only of the drinker, but of all he/she touches. Finances, family, time, clarity, direction, purpose and the list goes on.
Most drinkers cannot tell you when the tables turned, when did the after-work drink became a must and not an option. Most deny that they have a problem, and even when they have lost it all, they still keep drinking.

Again, the question is simple, why do I do it? Where did I start? What am I trying to forget? The source of the problem must be found, because drinking is not the solution. And to stop drinking without realising why you started, will only last a while, then you will start again, because the trouble was not found.
Sit down in a sober moment and take stock of your life. Where did it all begin? And realise one thing, you can make a change, but it is only you, nobody can make that decision for you.
Let nothing rule you, ask Jesus to help, He is the only one who can. !

Its definitely a slow destroyer.

Yes, and before you know it, you are caught and it is difficult to get out. I was married to a wonderful man who went this way and nothing could get him out of it. What a waste ...
