Another topic that fascinates me about #steemit is the valuation they accredit to each of our posts and tags. It's hard for me to take any of the dollar amounts, associated with each post, seriously. What is the algorithm used to calculate that total? Is it easy to understand or is it some #crypto mumbo jumbo that goes way above my pay grade?
It's pretty cool to see which tags resonate the most with steemians, but it's hard to genuinely believe that the SBD payouts are legit. It gives me a lot to consider, when tagging my posts because I want to reward topics and posters that inspire me or give me food for thought. I don't want to reward bots or scammers that only care about upvoting.
Knowing about the tagging payouts helps me make logical decisions about where to invest my energies and I'm thankful for that transparency. It's the first true bit I've seen so far and am eager for more.
What do you think about tags? Do you have any you prefer? Why? Feel free to leave a comment. Let's get the dialogue started.
It's not easy to find your way through the different groups of steemit. Some of the groups will give you support when you use the right tag. There is the #writersblock and the #isleofwrite there is the #steemstem and #steemiteducation tag, which is related to science, there is the #ocd tag where undervalued posts are supported and many many more. It took me months to figure it all out.
To get in touch with the groups you have to connect through the chat room, here, it is discord. Once you've got an account you can search there for the groups and get yourself acquainted with the board and the members. You will need a lot of time because it's building up trust and making friends. No guarantee for getting rewards. People do indeed worship and value quality posts which are written from your profession and heart.
You only can make it here through the groups you feel the most connected to and who support each other's topics and exchange knowledge. Besides that, it is not possible to gain success walking alone.
As you noticed I am stopping blogging. For me, the pace is too high and also I guess I've said everything I wanted to say and publish. In order to continue, I would like another structure and more slowness in the system itself. You seem someone with a lot of life experience.
Good luck and enjoy this realm:)

Thank you for the wisdom. I already setup on Discord and joined a local group, called #SoCalSteemit
They are smaller, but support each other and the encouragement we get/give is helpful. I just discovered the OCD group about an hour ago and absolutely love their letter updates. I'm finding really cool stuff on here. I'm not really motivated by triple digit SBD action for posts. Upvotes and Reputation Score help me gauge whether anyone is reading what I post. It's the forest for the trees model, I guess.
I have a lot to share, but I also have even more to learn and want to help curtail the spammer/plagiarist/photo rippers, to make room on the blockchain for the good quality content I crave. Maybe that's a selfish goal, but this platform is DOA if the spam activity is allowed to continue. It takes the fun out of the entire experience for me.

thank you.
Spammers only bugged me occasionally and when I let myself be dragged into that discussion. I dealt with them when I encountered them through my own blogging or stumbled over one. Other than that I think its time and energy eating to fight them. They will be always there and everyone can handle that within his own activities. Like a virus. If one gets you, you take care of yourself by taking medicine or let the feaver kill it. Trending page is a really bad role model for all newcomers. I never go there and totally ignore it. The war is ridiculous in my eyes.
Mostly, humor helps and laughing the spammer to death:)) - not easy sometimes.
For plagiarism here in the steemit realm my very own dealing is: whenever someone wants to copy my message: feel free to do that. Actually, I take it as a compliment. ;-) LOL
