Manchester City lost their game to Crystal Palace, suffering their first defeat at home.
City started the game dominating the possession, with Crystal Palace just being able to defend. There was a moment of controversy in the 7th minute, when Zaha got taken down in the box but the referee said to play on. City continue the game as the dominant side, creating chance after chance but just not being able to find the back of the net.
City finally took the lead in the 27th minute. Delph crossing into the box and Gundogan meeting it with a header to score. 5 minutes later, Crystal Palace get their first effort on goal and they do not waste it. Punishing City with their first shot while City had already wasted a number of chances. Schlupp was the one to put the ball through the keepers legs and into the post after being put through by McArthur.
Crystal Palace make use of the momentum from the first goal and double their lead just three minutes later. Townsend was the one to blast it in the net from 30 yards after City failed to properly clear a free kick. City kept applying the pressure but are still behind by the break.
Drama in the 51st minute when Meyer gets taken down in the box and Crystal Palace are awarded a penalty. Luka Milivojevic takes it and sends it into the corner of the net. City are two goals down and it's not looking good.
City get a real chance in the 75th minute with a free kick, but after Sane curls the ball over the wall, it hits the post and goes out. City finally start getting back in the game by the 85th minute, when De Bruyne who looked like he was crossing finds his ball in the corner of the net. With only one goal between them, Man City increase the pressure in the final minutes in desperation for a leveler.
With only 5 minutes of normal time remaining, City get a chance but Jesus has his shot blocked and cleared by Crystal Palace. City get another chance in the 2nd minute of added time, but Jesus heads the ball over. Crystal Palace then manage to run down the clock until the final whistle is blown.
With the defeat, Manchester City are now 4 points behind Liverpool who are at the top of the League currently.
