Paul Pogba scored twice in the second half as Manchester United defeated Huddersfield 3-1 at home yesterday.
United started the game positively, holding onto most of the ball possession with some quick passing. Huddersfield created the first chance in the 10th minute, but Kongolo shoots the ball over. Manchester United started creating chances of their own, and it wasn't long before they found the net. In the 28th minute, Rashford takes a corner kick, which Lindelof heads but has it blocked at the line, Matic however was on hand to finish things off.
United pushed on to double their lead in the first half, but ended up going into the break with their 1 goal lead.
Huddersfield improved their performance in the second half, Laurent Depoitre almost scoring for Huddersfield but was denied by a brilliant save from De Gea. What soon proved to be an important save, as Manchester United went on to double their lead just 3 minutes later. In the 66th minute, Herrera sets up Pogba who sends it home with a lovely finish. Pogba again was able to find space in the 77th minute, and he scored his second goal of the match, putting United 3 up.
Mathias Jorgensen pulled one back for Huddersfield in the 88th minute, but with United's 3 goals, it was nothing more than a consolation goal.
Manchester United seem to have gotten back in form under their new caretaker manager, with Ole Gunnar getting 2 wins in his 2 games since he took over. Their victory over Huddersfield coming after United's 5-1 trashing of Cardiff City.
