Arsenal are weighing up their options considering Jesus might be out for some time, they could recall Balogan on loan or try to bring someone in for the rest of the reason on loan or as a permanent signing. That list of possible players continues to grow as the club declared interest in signing Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha as a temporary replacement for Gabriel Jesus in January
Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was dealt a blow during the World Cup with Jesus out for up to 3 months and Nketiah the only out-and-out forward at the club.
Nketiah has scored 26 goals for Arsenal and impressed towards the end of last season so may deputize throughout, but Arteta will have to accept that Nketiah bar some insane run of form is not the man who will be banging in the goals to keep you at the top of the table.
Cunha is reportedly set to leave Atletico anyway, with Dieogo Simeone willing to offload the 23-year-old just 15 months after he joined the club due to poor form, so I don't get why this deal is so attractive if only to get a body in the door.

He's scored seven goals in 54 appearances for Atletico, though several of his minutes have been substitute appearances, so maybe Mikel is looking for someone content with bench time or they see something we do not.
Arsenal isn't the only club keen on Cunha and faces competition from Leeds, Aston Villa, and Wolves for his services, despite him being contracted with the Spanish side until 2026.
Cunha is currently available for 20 million after a torrid time in Spain, having left Germany for 30 million a season ago.
