The duos from Atletico Madrid, Santiago Arias, and Diego Costa are tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. They get infected during the leave away from the team, and upon their comeback, they were separated from the club for 14 days as security protocol demands.
The club confirmed the news on Thursday that both key players from Atletico are tested positive and kept away from the club for a while. The whole team went under the comprehensive screening just before the preseason practice games were about to start on 4 September. Along with this, the club's entire first-team also went under the testing session in Majadahonda at the club's facility.
But during that, Arias and Costa were both absent, along with some of the international youngsters. The club described that the duo exposed to the virus during their leave period and are currently under the quarantine as per the protocol.
On Thursday, at the official website of the club, Atletico stated that their entire first squad had passed the preliminary rounds of virus testing that the 2020-21 season is demanding, in Cuidad Deportiva Wanda, Majadahonda.
The first team was available at the spot, except from those two and international players who are currently playing for their respective national sides and will appear in the training sessions when they would finish their respective games.

Because of that, both of them aren't joining the preseason's first few games that are scheduled to start on 4 September in the Majahonda's Ciudad Deportiva Wanda, until they finish their quarantine time.
Atletico would be starting its La Liga games on 27 Sep at home, as their first two rounds were delayed because of their contribution to the Champion's League's later games.
