Story of World Cup #Part 1

There are interesting from this year that will be held the most prestigious competition in the world and only held once every four years is the world cup. World Cup this time is the 21st edition. Before discussing the world cup further let us recall how and when the first world cup was held.

The world cup that had been held in 1930 was the first world championship in professional football. This championship held in America Continent precisely at Montevideo city, the capital city of Uruguay and followed by 13 countries like United States of America, Chile, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, France, Paraguay, Bolivia, Yugoslavia, Argentina, Peru, Romania, and Uruguay as the host. At least there were 4 countries that submitted the host like Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Sweden however, Uruguay was chosen as the host by FIFA Congress in Barcelona in 1929. Uruguay became the host because of their victory at summer Olympics in 1928.

To award this competition was awarded a golden trophy known as "The Greek Goddess of Victory" or “Jules Rimet” made by French sculptor Abel Lafleur. But in 1970 the rule was changed to hand the trophy to the next winner and save the trophy.

Many things were the interest which happened on that first world championship especially about Europe Team, they can’t be followed the competition held every 4 years, due to a long trip, Europe team have to cross the Atlantic Ocean moreover they were in crisis at that time.

Every match went very fierce that made the match was more interesting. Several other teams showed that they were hard to beat like United States of America, Argentina, and France besides Uruguay as the host and they became the favorite team in that competition.

On July 30, 1930, Uruguay became the champion in front of their supporter with 93.000 people in their stadium pride, Estadio Centenario. They managed to defeat Argentina with score 4-2 and delivered them to be the first champion of the world cup.
