Eid al-Adha is also called the "Feast of Sacrifice", is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated around the world every year, and is considered a holier of both. It respects Ibrahim willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael, as an act of obedience to God's command. Before sacrificing his son, God intervened by sending his angel Jibra'il, who then put a ram in place of his son. In commemorating this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts: a third of the part is given to the poor and needy; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the remaining third is maintained by the family.

Like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha begins with a two-rak'ah prayer followed by a sermon (khutbah). The celebration of Eid al-Adha begins after the fall of Hujjaj, pilgrims performing the pilgrimage, from Mount Arafat, a hill east of Mecca. Eid sacrifice may last until sunset on the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. The days of Eid have been mentioned in the Hadith as a "memorial day" and are regarded as the holiest days of the Islamic Calendar. Takbir (hari) Tashriq comes from Maghrib prayer on 29 Dhul-Qadah until Maghrib prayer on the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah (thirteen days and three nights). Source : wikipedia
