Social Media has vast effects on our lives. Not only on peer groups or on our work life, but social media directly affecting our family relationships also. We are becoming a part of the 'big community' but sometimes make ourselves away from our close relationship. With the new application on smartphones like dating apps or 'online matching' apps, different video sharing apps effect more on our relationship with the family. This problem arises all over the world.
The major problem is the 'communication gap' among family members, especially between parents and children. I'm not only talking about an adult, but this also affects small children. Like parents nowadays make themselevs busy with communication with friends and family through social media and having less quality time for their kids. Social media crossed the boundary of entertainment and communication, it's an addiction nowadays.

Another major problem is the 'lake of privacy' among family members. People usually share everything or even their private things on social media. And any family members can easily access that. It changes our norms and values. What we not supposed to share with our parents, now unconsciously sharing those. This may not seem a creates a huge effect but it is causing a relationship imbalance in the long run.
Moreover, children usually try to communicate with their family members and parents over social media rather than meet them personally. And this creates a huge communication gap among parents and children. We may think that social media made it easy to connect with our beloved but notice how it impacts on your life. Seeing someone on the photo or video often left us from connecting with them through a call or face-to-face meeting.
We are expending a huge amount of time on social media no matter what form it is. And we are losing the 'family value' day by day because of the lack of communication. We are becoming mentally apart from each other. Even if we come to the dinner table, we are focused on our devices, ignoring the other members sitting at the table next to us. We are thoughtlessly and uselessly wasting our precious time on different sites. Think, what should we do, what you should do!
