This is why I left! (You should too!)

I know we have been down this road before.
This time its much worse than I ever thought it would be.
I hope some of this information proves to be useful to you, and what I'm about to tell you is important.
If you don't care, then stop reading now, save yourself some time and click the little X in the top right corner.

The internet is a great tool for many things! If you're like me, and/or born after 1980 you know that everything, I mean everything in today's modern society is connected somehow, someway, to the use of the Internet. Its how we stay connected, how we know what the newest trends are, where that new restaurant is and whether its too expensive to dine at! Nothing you do nowadays is "offline" really.
However, with good there also comes evil if you're not careful.
I know not everyone is tech savvy, and what the heck are "Proxy Servers" am i right?

One thing we know about the internet for sure is that 1. Nothing is really truly "Private".

How would you feel if I told you that I was going to monitor every text, every email, every picture you post, and make money off of it? What if I told you that that picture of your innocent child(ren) playing at the park was going to be sold and sent to whoever I want, and you have no say?
What if I told you that every message you sent to Mom or Dad, Friend, or even sweet Me-Maw could be used to have you arrested and charged as "terrorist activity"?
What if I told you that what you say is censored and made so that you can no longer express your beliefs, political views, or even say what you want to anymore without someone monitoring that and deleting it because "they don't approve".

Sounds ludicrous right? Sounds invasive? Sounds illegal?
Well guess what? Its already happening as you read this.

What am I talking about?
Facebook.

By signing up you gave every right you ever thought you had away. And to who?
Whoever wants it.

"But.. but... my settings are set to be secure".

Are they?

"They cant do that!"

Sadly they can, they already are, and they will continue to and it will get worse and worse!

So my question is this...
Are you comfortable knowing this information?
Are you willing to delete your account too? Why/Why not?
It is worth it?

It was for me.

Technology is a beautiful thing, but when you're being used as a pawn in someone else's sick game, is it really beautiful anymore? Is it fun?
Knowing your life, everything you've ever known and love is being dictated behind the scenes and people are profiting from your "life".

If this isn't real enough for you imagine with me for a minute...

A stranger comes, knocks on your door. Says if you sign this you can be connected to everyone you love, lost contact with, or want! Its a great new way to do life together! Sounds great! So you let them into your home, in the middle of dinner. They don't join you, rather they're just there in the background. They decide they want to take the pictures of your family off your wall and sell them. You try and stop them but cant. After-all, YOU gave them permission to enter right? You gave them permission by simply "signing up".
You overlook that for a while, and realize "Whatever, its just the way it is, maybe they're not so bad".

Couple days go by and you notice cameras and microphones in every room. They're always on. You cant get away from them. They are recording everything you say, waiting to use it against you. Do you feel safe enough to be yourself anymore? Do you feel like you now have to watch what you say? Do you feel safe in your home anymore?

Months go by, and you get more and more used to the way your "new life" is. You never thought it would be this way, and yes, you got reconnected with your old college roommate, but at what cost?
Suddenly a local police officer shows up to your door to arrest you. But why? All you did was wake up and say "Good morning" to the world and your now a terrorist! Off to jail you go.

Its happening folks, all over! I know, you'd say what I did; "It wont happen to me! I don't post or say things that are a threat!" "I'm hardly online!"
Doesn't matter.
The fact that they monitor everything and are in control of what is considered a threat or offensive anymore gives them way too much power!

Do they stop when its brought to attention?
No, they simply apologize and continue their sick game.

I am writing this to inform others. Majority of the population who has a FB account either doesn't know this information, or does but turns a blind eye so to speak.
I am simply here to get the information out. What you do with it is completely up to you.
I am choosing to be the 1% who stands up and says its not okay.
As for me and my family we will be Facebook free.

Do your research folks.
If you don't take my word for it, here's another article from gizmodo you can read.
There are plenty out there. The world is at your finger tips!

Did you post this on Facebook?

No because just like I mentioned, if they don't agree with it, then in comes the censorship/control of my account.
