* Important to read,
1. Don't call someone more than twice continuously. If they don't pick up your phone, that means they have something more important to pay attention to.
2. When someone accidentally drops something on the floor or drops food from a plate or doesn't know how to use a knife/fork don't look at them. The same thing applies to people who sneeze, cough, or even uncontrolled farts. This is an accidental reaction.
3. Always skip using the sink that is being used and doesn't stand next to it. It makes people nervous there.
4. Return the money you have borrowed before anyone else even remembers lending it to you. Be it 1 Sen or 100,000 Sen. It shows your integrity and character. The same is true for umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes.
5. Never order expensive dishes on the menu when someone treats you to lunch/dinner. If possible ask them to order their choice of food for you.
6. Don't ask awkward questions like 'Oh so you haven't married yet?' Or 'Don't you have kids' or 'Why don't you buy a house?' For God's sake, that's not your problem.
7. Always open the door for the person who comes behind you. It doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl. You don't get small by treating someone well in public.
8. If you take a taxi with a friend, and he pays now, you pay next time.
9. Respect different political opinions.
10. Never interrupt people's talk.
11. If you tease someone, and they don't seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again.
12. Say "thank you" when someone helps you.
13. Praise in public. Personally criticize.
14. There is almost never a reason to comment on a person's weight. Just say, "You look amazing." If they want to talk about losing weight, they will do it.
15. If you get a long flight or take a train, take a shower beforehand. The person next to you will appreciate it.
16. When someone shows a photo on your cell phone, don't swipe left or right. You never know what comes next.
17. If a colleague tells you that they have a doctor's appointment, don't ask for what, just say hope you're okay. If they want to talk about it, they will and you don't put them in an uncomfortable position because they have to tell you about their illness.
18. Treat cleaners / OB with the same respect as CEO. Nobody is impressed with how rude you are to treat someone below you, but people will pay attention if you treat them with respect.
19. If someone talks directly to you and you look at your cellphone then you are not polite.
20. Never give advice until you are asked.
21. Don't make plans in front of those you don't involve.
22. Don't talk to someone if they are using headphones.
23. When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don't ask about their age and salary.
24. When a friend/colleague offers you food, you can politely say NO. But, don't do this after tasting or kissing it. This is an insult to those who have offered it to you.
25. When someone starts talking about their illness, don't start talking about your illness.
26. When someone you know has a clear appearance change, e.g. Weight gain/loss, bald spots, zits. don't ever comment on it until they discuss it with you, they already know what happened to them.
27. Never kiss a baby that is not yours.
28. Mind your own business unless there is something that involves you directly - do not interfere.
29. Don't see every post on Facebook as an opportunity to debate/argue, even if it doesn't match your views or beliefs.
*Stay humble*
