This is a very interesting topic. I've read other places that the companies working on these dolls have also been important players in the development of AI.

    Yes. This will be huge (in the Billions of dollars. I bet at least 50% of the global citizens would immediately take a bot as a companion over people. This would be true especially if their is improved A.I. and you can program dolls to have similar likes and dislikes as you have
