Friday, we love you.

(Well, those of us who don't work weekends MORE SO perhaps).

Frigga (or Frigg), the Germanic goddess of marriage and love – wifey to Odin, apparently had LOTS of FOREKNOWLEDGE and WISDOM. Or more annoyingly, in modern vernacular, 'the b was WOKE'. Ok, she was probably fictitious, but it's going to give me a chance to vent, bear with me.

So, what did she know??

Wonder if she was aware of the vast programming and slavery of our society, or the gradual indoctrination from birth of our children to accept the State as their nanny, royalty as boss and spend many years learning, only to end up treading the hamster wheel of employment, tax paying (unless you're an elite), and brow-beaten with working hours separating you from your family, the world wars relentless, yet the votes still dropping in to the ballot boxes.

My friend just got a new job and I was shocked to see how as a Paralegal with a law degree she is earning the same as someone cleaning houses for a living - a minimum wage all on offer. Student debt to pay off too, but that can clearly wait.

The big chain companies relying on you claiming working tax credits to make up the salary deficit, which of course all comes from the tax payers' money! How is this allowed? Private companies exploiting people - nothing new, but us of course, dumbly supporting it out of the public purse... Or what's left of it after bailing out the banks. Messed up, man.

So why is Friday so loved?

We can hammer the booze, focus more on family, watch sport, zone out with brain-numbing reality TV, tend to our cars, gardens, house, yard, go for a drive and forget about the SH*T most of us buy in to? I don't know who the Jones's are, but I sure as heck don't need to keep up with them, I'd probably get done for speeding if I did and be forced to pay a fine for my freedoms.

Wonder what Frigga would be doing on a Friday? Buying tickets to a chariot race, enjoying a goat's milk bath or spinning golden yarn. How wonderful, all of it - just waiting for my OFF GRID family on STEEMIT to cover these subjects. :)

As a Norse goddess of marriage, love, childbirth, wisdom she would hopefully be giving Odin a good bollocking for his unhealthy love of the gallows, death and war.

I mean, talk about how 'opposites attract'. Frigging hell.

That made me giggle at the end :)
Sad though that I also see all that you see with our 'civilization' today (if you can call it that).

Bankers wars, profit-driven Big Pharma impacting every aspect of our lives, global government on the horizon, etc., etc.

^ same page :)

Indeed :)
Good to see others are 'awake' and hopefully a growing community.

You know some interesting stuff Salli!! AHHAAA :) Thank you for sharing, I had no clue about the origins of Friday!!!

ima gonna teach yoooo! haha

I see the week differently than most as I work hard to live on natural time rather than slave time. I may joke around about it, but I'm serious when I see weekends, stat holidays, vacations and other benefits as being rewards to the slaves so that they don't rebel and remain as productive as possible.

Love the article! Great work! My next article is about natural time! Coincidence? I think NOT!!!

I don't even know what day it is most of the time anymore. My clock is "light outside" and "dark outside."
So whenever I need to interact with the world, say, get to the post office or the pet store, I have to check my devices and orient myself. "Oh, it's Saturday and the post office closes at 1pm for no logical reason." "Oh it's Sunday and the pet store closes at six pm for no logical reason."
People have tried to tell me stores closing early on Sunday was because of Christianity, but, uh, services are on Sunday mornings, not Sunday evenings, generally? If that was the case, stores would open LATE on Sundays.
But I digress.

Stores used to be closed all day on Sunday. The industrial machine forced them open because they were losing money being closed one day a week. Some institutions like banks used to be closed all weekend and only open 9-3 during the week. Those hours have significantly changed over time as well. I go my sunlight too! Just posted my own post about this topic. Hope you enjoy it.

Give me a like Phoenix Wren. Appreciate your comment and the 0.00000001 dollar I may make from you haha. What do you buy from the pet store?

That's it - you nailed my message here. Definitely not coincidence when on the same wave length. Thank you Rob, you and LyndsayBobs are an inspiration.
